We need SEN Teacher


Bachelor's Degree as Special Educator (Preferred with B.Ed. and SSD License)

Planning, Teaching and Class Management


  • Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each student's abilities
  • Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
  • Evaluate own teaching critically to improve effectiveness;
  • Help students with severe disabilities develop basic life skills, such as how to respond to questions and how to follow directions.
  • Monitor and help maintain student discipline. Encourage good practice about punctuality, behavior, standards of work and homework. Be accountable for such actions;
  • Use of varied teaching methods and practices catering to different learning styles resulting in increased levels of student learning outcome.

Monitoring, Assessing, Recording, Reporting

  • Implement IEPs, assess students' performance, and track their progress
  • Follow marking schemes, use set moderation methods and upload actual marks on time as per instructions;
  • Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect students' progress and goals
  • Maintain each student file with all updated documents, medical record etc.
  • Discuss student's progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators
  • Supervise and mentor teacher assistants who work with students with disabilities
  • Ensure high levels of attainment and progress for all groups and individuals.

Pastoral Duties

  • Monitor the wellbeing of all students under care;
  • Support students who need special assistance in learning, who are gifted/talented or who need additional care;
  • Communicate, as appropriate, with parents of students and persons or bodies outside the school concerned with the welfare of individual students, after consultation and approval from Vice Principal/Principal.

Compliance

  • Contribute to the corporate life of the school through effective participation in meetings and management systems necessary to coordinate the management of the school;
  • Establish effective working relationships and set a good example through the presentation and personal and professional conduct;
  • Maintain confidentiality on matters related to school, staff, students and infrastructure.

Interactions
The Teacher will share the developmental procedures and the progress in implementation of various policies on a regular basis with the following:

Internal:
Principal, Vice Principal, Head of department, Supervisors, teachers, administrative staff and students.

External:
Parents - only to discuss about the progress of their children unless otherwise instructed by the Principal

Experience:3 years of Experience in same role (required)
