Job Purpose:

The Finance Product Owner (FPO) is a product management function in Finance Application and Master Management responsible for managing the development and delivery of financial systems enhancements and support for Finance globally.

Working alongside the Finance Product Manager (FPM), the FPO ensures that the company has access to the best-in-class financial systems, applications, and management information, which are used internally by Finance and across the business to inform and enable commercial decisions.

In addition to managing the development and delivery of financial systems enhancements, the FPO is responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance with effective policies and processes for financial systems access and master data updates.

This ensures appropriate control over the Group's assets and accurate processing of financial information.

With primary focus as a product owner of a corporate payment gateway system, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful development and delivery of the payment gateway system while ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations, alignment with customer needs, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Accountabilities
  • Lead the product management for the corporate payment gateway system and other finance products in the portfolio, including understanding business process changes, requirements, feature refinement, solution design, user experience definition, testing, training, and coordinating the delivery of features to production in coordination with IT.
  • Represent the end users and stakeholders of the payment gateway system and ensure alignment with Technical Product Owners (TPO) for product roadmap management and Scrum Masters (SM) from IT to ensure successful delivery of the program increment plan.
  • Act as a product specialist on strategic and operational projects related to the payment gateway system and ensure collaboration with other product owners internally and externally to design integrated solutions for optimized data flow across multiple systems while ensuring financial controls are in place.
  • Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) related to application support requests (ASRs) by engaging with IT and external vendors & banks, as required.
Provide functional consultancy to the support team on issues, identify product improvements based on data insights, and ensure accurate financial information processing.
  • Ensure alignment of payment gateway processes to applicable policies for User Access Management and Functional Master Management, including periodic reviews to ensure a self checking mechanism on key user access & functional masters.
  • Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user guides, and setup/configuration documents for the payment gateway system to guide the team in maintaining the system and ensure accurate financial information processing.
  • Support the training plan driven by Financial Product Managers (FPMs) to address identified training needs from across the stakeholder groups to enable better utilization of technology & adoption.
  • Manage own performance and continuous learning plan, help improve the performance of the unit, and support the development of other team members to ensure successful succession planning.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Finance & Insurance/Finance Management : 5+ Years
  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) :Degree in Technology, Finance or Accounting related would be preferred
  • Experience:
  • Experience in large multinational companies in a Supervisory capacity, focussed on applications / product management. Functional (Finance and/or Accounting) knowledge is highly desired.
  • Knowledge/skills:
  • Functional product knowledge of Financial Applications highly desired which include but not limited to: ERP Finance (Oracle Financials eBS preferred), Airline Revenue Accounting, Direct Operating Costs, Payment Gateway, Treasury, Planning, Forecasting, Consolidation & Budgeting
  • Reporting / Analytics :Ability to understand the wider impact of financial applications, understand how it fits in the overall technology landscape and how it enables the finance function
  • Basic Accounting & Taxation knowledge
  • Advanced Operational Finance Knowledge
  • Ability to understand finance processes from a financial applications perspective
  • Experience in handling master management functions, preferably in an airline or aviation group
  • Advanced product management skills
