The Job Opportunity

We are looking for an Airports Health, Safety and Environmental Manager will ensure all employees are trained on the Serco HSE Management Standards and procedures and will lead on all HSE matters on a day to day operational in ensuring delivery of both our customer and Serco Contract HSE Objectives.

The role is both inward and outward facing with customers. The HSE Manager will lead on HSE incident investigations and identifying root causes, recommendations, and corrective actions.


The HSE Manager will ensure delivery of an effective HSE Training programme and support and ensure successful mobilsation of HSE elements and safety procedures on all new contract awards across sectors and countries where Serco operate.


The purpose of the role is to lead HSE Management across all Airport Contracts driving a positive safety culture across the organisation and working jointly with our customers to ensure we prevent harm to both passengers and colleagues from all organisations.

This opprotunity will be based in Dubai Airports with Serco Middle East.


Key accountabilities To ensure employees are aware of, share, and continue to comply with HSE legal and regulatory requirements in the airport, including landside and airside requirements.

To monitor and review all HSE actions arising from incidents, audit reports, compliance reviews and inspections and ensure that common themes are brought to the attention of Division management.

To lead and host HSE Certification audits with 3rd parties and to develop and execute a HSE compliance plan. To ensure adequate emergency response, crisis management and business continuity plans are in place across all Airport Contracts. These should be maintained and regularly tested. Prepare QHSE monthly and quarterly reports on HSE as required by the customer and Serco internally.

Conduct root cause analysis across HSE client and accidents and lead and support on investigations for all incidents and accidents.

To deliver HSE inductions and HSE training and refreshers across airport contracts to all employees. To contribute to the development and success of the Divisional HSE objectives. To prepare HSE reports and presentations on behalf of the Sector/Contract Manager as required.
To provide troubleshooting across airport contacts and other on HSE matters as required.
To ensure compliance with all Serco Group and Divisional Standard Operating procedures for Health, Safety and Environment.
Develop and execute an effective, tailored, Airport wide HSE training plan.
Drive a positive Safety culture across all Serco operations and sites working closely with HSE community across the division.

Good analysis skills.

Specific requirements The NEBOSH Occupational Health and Safety Diploma or equivalent qualification Lead Auditor Qualification ISO45001 Internal Audit or Lead Auditor Qualification ISO 14001

Internal Audit or Lead Auditor Qualification ISO9001 Knowledge and experience of working in Facilities Management within an airport Knowledge or experience of working within a Customer Service environment working with passengers/passenger safety preferably within an airport environment.

Knowledge of UAE Health & Safety and environmental legislation An understanding of the risks associated with FM activities Knowledge or understanding of passenger HSE risks within an airport Ability to deliver effective HSE training programmes Ability to travel
