MISSIONS

  • Create and maintain relationships with suppliers and serve as the singular point of contact for matters concerning contracts.
  • Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress.
  • Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contractrelated matters.
  • Monitor contracts and move forward with closeout, extension or renewal according to what's best for SYSTRA.
  • Solve any contractrelated problems that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.
  • Support in contractual negotiations with the client so that business requirements are met.
  • Support Project Managers in administering respective Contracts and lead the preparation of claims and variations.
  • Create and maintain relationship with internal clients and operational teams, clients, consortium partners, subcontractors, as the case may be, and their legal advisors on a daytoday basis to facilitate reporting to senior management.
  • Work closely with the Legal, Project Management, Technical teams for the zone covered to secure the closeout, extension or renewal to serve the best interests of SYSTRA.
  • Be aware, understand and obtain thorough knowledge about the active projects and the tenders in preparation in the region(s) assigned.
  • Challenge commercial matters through risks identification and provide mitigation advice.
  • Engage with the Commercial Director and local Compliance Lead to understand the Golder Rules and ensure adherence to important corporate and regulatory policies through training.
  • Manage the local corporate processes for SYSTRA D&B, in coordination with other departments.
  • Prepare in a timely manner, legal and contractual documents such as Request for Proposal (RFP) and other legal or contractual or tender package as required, to procure construction and /or sub contract from the local market.
  • Carry out the preaward activities including preaward schedules, provide advertisement for tenders and participates in the preaward meetings, evaluates, and negotiates a bid.
  • Monitoring, drafting and reviewing all contractual correspondence between SYSTRA, Sub-Consultants, and construction Contractor.
  • Verifying that all insurances and guarantees required by the Contractors are in place and maintained.
  • Carry out contractual change management process like but not limited to drafting and review of change orders, claims, back charges and penalties, defense of incoming claims visavis Contractor.
  • Preparation, drafting and management of notices, Contract Risk Registers, Claims and Compensation events logs

PROFILE

  • Graduate or a Post Graduate in Civil Engineering / Contracts Management
  • 610 years in the Construction industry or in the Consulting domain
  • Communication: Must be able to communicate ideas effectively internally within SYSTRA, to the other parties involved in the contract and to stakeholders to keep everyone apprised of contractrelated matters.
  • Negotiation: Must be able to negotiate with the parties involved to get the most benefit to SYSTRA out of any contract considered.
  • Confidence: Must have the confidence in what you do and how that can add value to SYSTRA.
  • Financial skill: In order to evaluate whether or not a contract is good for SYSTRA, he/she must have the necessary financial skills to determine exactly how SYSTRA would benefit.
  • Knowledge on Contract models based on FIDIC guidelines is preferable.
  • Experience in preparing Tender Documents (preferably as a Consultant) that form part of the RFP would be an added advantage.
