    Responsible for oversight on designand implementation of products assigned to their team. Still needsto think things through but has their driver's license.This means they can take user stories and new features from idea toproduction unattended. Actively manages and escalates risk andcustomer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role tomanagement.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze, design, program, test, anddeploy new user stories and features with high quality (security,reliability, operations) to production
    • Tends toAssociate Application Engineers by providing learning tasks as wellas work related tasks, directs the work of Senior AssociateApplication Engineers, and helps them continue togrow
    • Achieves team commitments (and influenceothers to do the same) by using informal leadership &highly developed communication skills
    • Has anoversight on design decisions and guides team to achieve keyresults for products assigned tothem
    • Remediates issues using engineeringprinciples and creates proactive design solutions for potentialfailures
    • Contributes to and leads technologycommunities at Discover

    MinimumQualifications

    Ata minimum, here's what we need fromyou:

    • Bachelors – ComputerScience or related
    • 3+ Years –Information Technology, (Software) Engineering, orrelated

    Internal applicantsonly: technical proficiency rating of competent onthe Dreyfus engineeringscale

    Qualifications

    • Engineering experience with Java onSpring Boot
    • Engineering experience withReact
    • Design and redesign of API's,Microservices, applications andsystems.
    • Deployment of applications to thecloud
    • Testing, CI/CD, ReleaseManagement
    • Excellent documentationsskills.
    • Experience working in an AgileEnvironment
