    Description

    Prepare detailed drawings of structuralfeatures of road, infrastructure or drawings and topographicalrelief maps used in civil engineering projects, such as highways,bridges, and public works. Use knowledge of building materials,engineering practices, and mathematics to completedrawings.

    Produce drawings, usingcomputer-assisted drafting systems (CAD) or drafting machines, orby hand, using compasses, dividers, protractors, triangles, andother drafting devices.

    Draft plans and detaileddrawings for structures, installations, and construction projects,such as highways, sewage disposal systems, and dikes, working fromsketches or notes.

    Coordinate structural,electrical, and mechanical designs and determine a method ofpresentation to graphically represent buildingplans.

    Analyze space and site requirements, andother technical documents and reports to determine their effect onarchitectural designs.

    Draw maps, diagrams, andprofiles, using cross-sections and surveys, to representelevations, topographical contours, subsurface formations, andstructures.

    Lay out and plan interior roomarrangements for commercial buildings, using computer-assisteddrafting (CAD) equipment and software.

    Superviseand train other technologists, technicians, anddrafters.

    Determine the order of work and methodof presentation, such as orthographic or isometricdrawing.

    Finish and duplicate drawings anddocumentation packages according to required mediums andspecifications for reproduction, using blueprinting, photography,or other duplicating methods.

    Draw rough anddetailed scale plans for foundations, buildings, and structures,based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations,specification sheets, and other data.

    Correlate,interpret, and modify data obtained from topographical surveys,well logs, and geophysical prospectingreports.

    Check dimensions of materials to be usedand assign numbers to lists of materials.
