    Description

    We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Joinery Procurement Officer to join Dubai based contracting company. The position of purchasing officer consists of planning, directing, or coordinating the Purchasing activities, including but not limited to purchasing construction materials, equipment and tools and subcontractors for different works.

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES


    • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service, available stocks, logistics capabilities and the supplier's reputation and history


    • Analyse the offers from suppliers and other data and information to determine reasonable prices


    • Work with companies within the group to utilize existing vendor knowledge and supply chain strategy


    • Negotiate contracts in terms of price, delivery schedules, payment. Setup frame contracts for the most important materials based on long term fixed prices with most reliable suppliers


    • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services


    • Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine the need for changes.


    • Permanent focus on finding reliable subcontractors for niche specialties (pilling, shoring,etc) as well as for usual construction works in order to increase the capacity when needed.


    • Create and manage the supplier database, based on KPI evaluation system for each supplier. Maintain updated records of purchased products, costs, delivery information and invoices


    • Monitor deliveries to ensure that goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods


    • Review quality of purchased products and find the right solutions for different issues that might occur


    • Prepare reports on purchases


    • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed, if applicable


    • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage, if applicable


    • Co-operation with estimator for offers/bids that should be made, with the production manager for current orders and with accounting for properly record of the purchases


    • Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations


    • Constant generation of ideas to improve inventory turns on purchased materials, with a focus on standardized components


    • Focus on constant improvements to your department's processes and workflow.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS


    • Proven work experience as a Joinery Purchasing Officer


    • Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with

    vendors)


    • Understanding of supply chain procedure


    • Negotiation skills.


    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.


    • Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of

    deadlines.


    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office


    • UAE Driving License will be an advantage
