    Description
    • To prepare the daily schedulerequirements and to issue post-patrol assignments to SecurityOfficers for the duration of their shifts.
    • Tomanage in the absence of the Assistant Security Manager, thedepartment according to the established concept statement providinga safe, secured, courteous, professional, efficient and flexibleservice at all times, following Hotel Standards ofPerformance.
    • To have a thorough understandingand knowledge of all hotel related services and products have theability to make recommendations to hotelguests.
    • To supervise all aspects of keydistribution and control according to policies and procedures ofthe hotel and to report any discrepancy immediately toAssistant/Security Manager.
    • To maintain legibleand accurate records of all control centre documents to includeGeneral Security Log, Key Control, Lost and Found and VisitorPasses.
    • To continuously maintain and serviceall equipment related, or assigned, to the department, as specifiedin equipment manuals.
    • To ensure that all hotelvehicles are properly maintained. To control the car log books,distribution of car keys, damages and kilometers driven perday.
    • To review scheduled functions, group, orVIP arrivals and special events and to organize resources / needsaccordingly.
    • To be flexible with work hours,regardless of time, during day, or night, in order to personallyfacilitate security arrangements of cases that require specialtreatment and handling.
    • To project at all timesa positive and motivated attitude and exercise selfcontrol.
    • To handle guest and ambassadorinquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guestcomplaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution canbe found and assure follow up with guests.
    • Torespond to any changes in the Security Department function asdictated by the hotel.
    • Be in the look out toidentify activities that may affect the operation of the hotel suchas seasonal events, current community crime trends, politicalactivism and other, and to share any such concerns withsuperiors.
    • To provide access, when required, tohigh-risk areas, exercising vigilance for the protection of assetsand to secure the area when access is no longerrequired.
    • To handle all tasks with diplomacy,tact, appropriate discretion and efficiency.
    • Tocontrol access to crime/natural disaster scenes in order topreserve evidence while awaiting the arrival ofauthorities.
    • To assist in preparing reports andmaking follow-ups on all reported guest disturbances, or allegedtheft incidents ensuring that the established policies andprocedures are adhered to. To assist in special investigation onhigh profile security matters and to prepare reports formanagements review.
    • To supervise themaintenance of the security log entries and to track all securityofficer patrol reports and subsequent securityactivities.
    • To oversee the intervention of allguest room safes and to maintain a logbook where all occurrencesare recorded.
    • To review all occurrence reportsprepared by security officers ensuring that they have complete,relevant and accurate information and to followup.
    • To be fully involved in the fire safetyprotection program
    • To be fully conversant withevery detail of the hotel layout and the location and functions of:
    • Sprinkler system and smokedetectors
    • Fire fighting equipment and emergencyexits
