Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Stewarding Supervisor to join our team.

The Stewarding Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and dining areas, as well as managing a team of stewards to uphold high standards of sanitation and efficiency.

This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the stewarding team, including dishwashers, pot washers, and kitchen cleaners.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes are cleaned and sanitized according to established standards and procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment and order replenishments as needed.
  • Train new stewards on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
  • Schedule and assign tasks to stewards to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operation of the stewarding department.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and dining areas to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
  • Handle any guest complaints or concerns related to cleanliness or sanitation promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain records of cleaning schedules, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects and deep cleaning tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as food and beverage and housekeeping, to coordinate efforts and ensure smooth operation.
  • Provide performance feedback and conduct performance evaluations for stewarding staff.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training new stewards as needed.
  • Uphold company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a stewarding or kitchen cleaning role required, with at least 12 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and coach a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations related to food service establishments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Detailoriented with a focus on cleanliness and organization.
  • Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and scheduling.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Food handling certification may be required depending on local regulations.
