**Description: - The Role

  • Fit Out Commercial Manager
  • Dubai
  • The role is with a business who turnover in excess of USD 1bn and has seen significant contract success in the UAE. Their work predominately falls within the sectors of Education, Custodial, Hotels, and Leisure
  • Project Values ranging from AED 10m to AED 500m in value.
  • A senior management position with responsibility for the full commercial management of a multi divisional engineering & construction business operating within the Fit out and Interiors market sector.
  • Reporting to the Group Commercial Director & for the management and administration of the commercial aspects of contracts both pre and post tender and execution in accordance with company internal controls, policies, local legal requirements and recognised good practice. To divide duties across all company business streams.
  • Key Tasks:
  • Review and administration of contracts and contract changes, accurate preparation of monthly contract reviews.
  • Lead negotiations with clients of contracts in terms of monthly valuations, variations, terms and conditions.
  • Compilation, management and negotiations of contractual claims both up and downstream and able to undertake claims avoidance measures.
  • To promptly manage in consultation with the Commercial Director and bring to satisfactory outcome any arbitration notice or legal action issued by or against the company.
  • To ensure all contract commercial operations are in accordance with the company
- s procedures and policies.

  • Cooperation and liaison with the Company
- s Pre Construction staff in terms of pre and post tender contractual and commercial advice including preparing and maintaining live commercial risk registers.

  • Cooperation and liaison with the company
- s Operational Managers to ensure sound commercial operation of all on going contracts to ensure successful financial outcomes of all operations.

  • To aid in the on going continuous improvement of commercial management systems and procedures which ensure contract requirements are met and the company
- s position is protected in all on going trading activities.

  • To set a positive, professional example to all subordinate staff and demonstrate good leadership supporting the company
- s core values.

  • Requirements
  • As the Commercial Manager your main responsibility will be to ensure financially the smooth running of projects from enquiry through to final account. You will have experience of managing the Tender Department along with a background in project costing and scheduling, preparing responses to proposals, bid preparation, and tendering techniques, contract management as well as procurement management.
  • You
- ll need to be highly flexible and adaptable with the ability to work effectively with multicultural workforce. It is essential that you have worked for a fit out/interiors company in the Middle East previously.
