    JOB DESCRIPTIONWood is currently recruiting for a Head of Project Controls for our Operations Middle East, Africa and Caspian business.

    RESPONSIBILITIESDrives and maintains the delivery of Project Controls excellence across the MEAC business through supporting the following activities:


    Oversight of Project Performance:


    Responsible for the provision of Planning, Estimating, Cost Management, change control and all associated reporting to individual contracts within the UK.

    Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Project Controls across the UK region.

    Support of the Continuous Improvement process both within the Company as a whole and within the Operations Excellence FunctionPromote Project Controls Awareness throughout the CompanyIdentify points of vulnerability by managing interventions on projects and conducting peer and deep dive reviews Proposal and Start-up activities:

    Responsible for providing relevant bid responses and inputs.
    Client alignment sessions and presentations in support of identify and acquire activities.
    Initial resourcing for bids and start-up activities.
    CEP/PCP development.
    Driving system and PC blueprint implementation.
    Co-ordinating PBI report implementation. Provide overall assurance for project controls related items during start-up.
    Conduct post start-up assurance reviews.


    Resource management activities:
    Recruitment when project PCM not in place.
    Escalating resourcing issues to EMEA resourcing forum. Reviewing overall MEAC resource requirements and planning future moves/development opportunities (working with EMEA Head of PC).Resource Competency Management. Regional/Functional focal point for MEAC related resource management queries.
    Monitor, support and where appropriate, mentor the development of project controls team members.

    Ensure that all team members work safely and are fully aware of all safety policies and initiatives within the Company.


    Governance and Assurance activities:

    Representation of PC department at MEAC level assurance reviewsEnsure compliance with Wood corporate project controls processes, procedures and system usage, and responsible for development of project specific processes to meet contract / client requirements.

    Assure the delivery of projects vs contractual requirements.

    Ensure the PMR (Project Monthly Report) is issued on time, duly populated and reviewed before being released at the BU level.

    Ensure the adherence to the Group Project Governance Standard (BU specific procedure) mainly in term of PMR reviews and applicability as well as the tendering & project start up and execution.

    Monitor the performance of the portfolio of Operations projects against the Project Governance Standard via review sessions, structured reporting, and dashboards.

    Conduct relevant project delivery assurance reviews, audits and potential interventions.


    QUALIFICATIONSQualifications:
    Degree qualification in relevant subject.
    HNC or equivalent with extensive project controls management experience.


    Knowledge, skills, and experience:
    Demonstrable balance of industrial and management experience at relevant level and position.

    Advanced level of expertise across all disciplines of project controls, typically gained by a significant number of years industry experience within Project Control, including some experience leading and managing others.

    Good understanding of Project Management principles and techniques. Excellent understanding of Project Control principles and techniques.

    Significant experience with multiple project delivery types including frameworks, portfolios, pre - FEED, FEED, EPCM, PMC and EPC.Extensive experience and understanding of project execution tools, processes and procedures.

    A thorough understanding of strategic change management, with the ability to translate this into appropriate goals, methodologies and strategies for implementation.

    Strong organizational and time management skills; able to effectively manage within tight time frames, to prioritize, and delegate appropriately.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present, inform and persuade at all levels and externally.
    Excellent understanding of Cost Control, Estimating, Change Management and Planning.
