JobSummary:

TheManager Nursing position is responsible for 24-hour comprehensiveoperational responsibility for the delivery and quality of patientcare provided in the designated areas(s) of

KeyResponsibilities:

• Fostersinterdepartmental/interprofessionalcollaboration
  
• Participatesin committees, representing unit and Nursing in a positivemanner
  
• Assistswith developing and implementing performance initiatives, ensuringoptimal patient safety, outcomes and customersatisfaction
  
• Demonstratesleadership qualities and critical thinking through self-direction,initiative, effective interpersonal skills and oral/writtencommunications
  
• Managesthe daily work activities of the work unit/department staff,ensuring quality, productivity, functional excellence andefficiency while assisting management in accomplishing strategicand operationalobjectives
  
• Providesguidance to staff and is responsible for staffing, budgetcompliance, contributing to staffing decisions such as hiring andterminating employment, coaching and counseling employees on workrelated performance, and assisting in the development andimplementation of policies and procedures to ensure a safe andeffective work
  
• Implementstraining, monitoring and operations initiatives that securecompliance with ethical and legal business practices andaccreditation/regulatory/ government
  

Requirements

Education:

• BSdegree in Nursing(required)
  
• Masters Degree in Nursing / Nursing Leadership(preferred)
  

Required:

• TexasRN license or temporary TX RN license, should obtain permanentlicense within 90
  
• 3-5Year of exp in a Nursing Manager (nursing leadership) role and/orsimilar role within a similar sized hospital (hospitalsystem)
  
• Managedover 50 staff in various nursing, nursing support and otherancillary staffroles
  
• ANCC/NCCCertification in related area:RNC-OB
  
• AmericanHeart Association Basic Life Support(BLS)
  
• CompactAmerican Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support(ACLS)
  
• NeonatalResuscitation Program (NRP)
  
• FetalHeart Monitoring - AWHONN - IntermediateFHM
  
• Strongability to resolve issues & having crucial conversationswith guests, staff andproviders
  
• Expertcritical thinkingskills
