As
EHS Manager
MENAT, your role is to ensure and provide a safe and healthy environment to our people and subcontractors and minimizing the impacts on the environment (environmental footprint of operations).

You are also responsible for protecting Alstom assets and reduction of business interruption resulting from fire and natural catastrophe.


Support Country Management in achieving EHS results

  • Initiate, develop and deploy EHS objectives, programs and initiatives in the Country in line with Transport Strategy and the specific Region and Country needs in a continuous improvement approach.
  • Implement a consistent EHS Management approach and EHS programs across the Country maximizing manufacturing, offices and jobsite health and safety, while minimizing workplace hazards and environmental impacts of operations.
  • Provide guidance to management for EHS improvement and control of sites and projects.
  • Provide advice and support to managers of operations and functions that may impact EHS performances.
  • Identify gaps between practices and Alstom & Transport standards, and propose actions to minimize those gaps in coordination with the Sites/Projects EHS leaders.
  • Followup site/project teams actions.
  • Coordinate the review and approval of EHS Risk Assessments and Method statements.
  • Ensure that Accidents/Incidents are first prevented, and when occurring, reported, recorded, investigated, and analyzed. Establish and communicate REX reports in case of severe or potentially severe accidents. Ensures all potentially severe events are captured.
  • Responsible for the quality of accidents/incidents analysis and REX reports in the country.
  • Monitor and analyze EHS performance, ensure standard reporting and deliver EHS Management reports.
  • Is accountable for the quality of the EHS reporting processes in the Country.
  • Has fully authority and must stop any operational activity resulting in a immediate high risk to people or environment.

Compliance

  • Ensure legal watch is organized at country level.
  • Monitors compliance to all relevant statutory, regulatory, contractual and company requirements.

Lead the EHS network in the Country

  • Is aware of all sites/projects in the country and staffs the sites and projects.
  • Conduct induction programs for new EHS people in the Country.
  • Assess & Develop EHS people.
  • Align EHS communities on objectives and programs.
  • Provides technical support and guidance to site team.

Develop EHS culture in the organization as a change agent

  • Influence EHS performance and connects Region EHS objectives, guidelines and principles with Country systems and processes, mobilize management teams to meet objectives.
  • Facilitate change and EHS continuous improvement.
  • Develop EHS understanding and competencies of key operational employees.
  • Deploy learning and development programs.
  • Build communication plan about EHS.
  • Ensure social partners are involved and communicate with them about EHS. Support site teams when needed.
  • Ensure medical partners are involved and communicate with them.

Support tendering process in the Country for EHS related topics

  • Be the country referent person for EHS questions in gate reviews at tender phase, provides EHS data and information. Contribute to commercial success with the support of EHS Region Director.
  • Document the contracts in order to secure Alstom's position and responsibility in the matter. Ensures early risks assessments are performed and adequate measures are defined.
  • Ensure after the contract signature proper EHS management.

Develop EHS Management system and EHS Standardization

  • Ensure that in all sites and projects in the Country, EHS Management System, in line with Alstom standards and international standards (EHS roadmaps, ISO 14001, OHSAS is implemented and maintained.
  • Support standardization and consistency of EHS processes across the Country, support EHS process integration and implementation.
  • Ensures sharing of EHS good practices at Country level.
  • Localize Alstom & Transport documentation/learning program when relevant

Deploy audits and inspection programs as per Alstom criteria

  • Be recognized as an Alstom auditor and contributes to the delivery of the Group & Transport audit program.
  • Visit regularly manufacturing sites, project sites and offices to identify EHS risks and issues.
