Dear HR Manager,

Some time ago, the Marketing Head of a large iconic financial brand in Dubai called me a Brand Barista!

I didn’t know if she was serious at first. Seeing the look on my face, she sipped her expresso and elaborated, “The boys have been talking. We threw everything at you but you surprised us. Our Brand is in a much better place thanks in a large part to your support, creativity and commitment.” Their final analysis was I thought and worked like a Brand Strategist, Creative Director and a Project Manager, all at the same time. Hence the success. Hence, the Brand Barista bit. I breathed a sigh of relief.

Maybe they were right about me. Building a Brand could actually be like preparing a cuppa. No two are ever the same. The subtleties, aromas and flavours... everyone has their signature preference. And a sensitive multi-tasking Barista knows exactly what to brew, how, and for whom, without losing focus.

After a few years of conceptualizing and building Brands (including one Superbrand), I stopped working, and started enjoying the Brand building process when I opened my boutique Brand Consultancy in Dubai in ‘03. It was a constant multi-tasking adventure as I learnt many skills beyond just Strategy and Copywriting. In my 19 years since, I’ve helped build many interesting Start-ups, SMEs and MNCs out of the GCC, India, Europe, USA and Africa into top-of-mind Brands.

I only knew I was good at what I did because I believe 1) in the human-centric Brand, 2) a Brand is only as good as the experience it delivers, 3) learnt from the best, 4) all my clients came through word-of-mouth, and 5) a few awards including some public fan mail!

As a Creative Director with 20+ years’ real hands-on experience under my belt, I’m raring for a dynamic ecosystem stirred with people-centric Brand-builders • An aromatic blend of purpose and strategy steaming with creative ambition • A percolator of ideas that I can enhance with my diverse and deep experience • A rendezvous for innovations that aspire to be the future • A list of steaming-hot job requirements that I’d love taking on.

That is why I apply for the position of Creative Director!
