09/17-Now  FINANCE MANAGER

  • Audit financial records and oversee quarterly VAT returns to ensure compliance with the UAE law and International accounting standards (IFRS)
  • Review monthly GL entries processed by the Finance associates and reconcile all BS accounts while ensuring there are no unauthorized entries
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and process payments for approved invoices to the vendors, along with general utility bills payments 
  • Review monthly payroll as per employee’s remuneration package while ensuring deductions (including salary advances, sick days, fines) and overtime hours are recorded accurately
  • Analyse monthly P&L and BS, and approve month-end journals including but not limited to payroll, revenue, accruals, prepayments, AP, AR
  • Review internal controls and ensure SOPs are followed by the team
  • Resolve internal issues by putting effective controls through use of technology
    • Implemented Quickbooks with an aim to efficiently handle and automate financial transactions for quick & accurate reporting. This led to reduction in manual work and errors by 60%
  • Analyse monthly P&L for each project and communicate the status of direct costs, overheads and revenue with project managers to ensure that costs are within the budget
  • Review and evaluate opportunities for cost reduction. 
    • Implemented vehicle tracking system which increased fuel efficiency by 20% 
    • Tightened Internal controls through implementation of LPO approval system for all purchase transactions resulting in immediate reduction of costs by 20-25%
  • Manage cash flow for timely payments of procurements, salaries and other general expenses.
  • Present monthly flash reports to MD with justification of variance in P&L and SOFP
  • Responsible for recruitment, training and development of Finance associates and providing constructive feedback
  • Oversee office operations including labor visa submissions, vehicle renewals, license renewal, employee insurance, fleet management, calculations of gratuity per labour law
