About Caroline B Hill:
Where to begin?
My career journey has seen its share of slow starts, bumpy roads, and swift progressions. I began working immediately after finishing school, driven by admiration for my teachers—their passion for teaching, their joy in the little things, and the impact they had on others.
I started as a Kindergarten Teacher and taught for 3 years, then transitioned to teaching at the Higher Secondary level for another 5 years in India. During that time, I developed key skills including planning, preparing, teaching, adapting, implementing, participating, communicating, reviewing, evaluating, mentoring, and encouraging. These years gave me a strong foundation in leadership, patience, and communication.
My career then took an unexpected but enriching turn into the hospitality industry. I joined the renowned Oberoi Hotels as a Service Plus Operator, where I honed my customer service skills—especially listening, empathizing, resolving, and recommending. I later joined Taj Hotels as a Reservations Executive, where I gained deeper knowledge in negotiation, product awareness, and revenue management.
My journey continued in the UAE with Samson Middle East, where I served as an Executive Assistant. This role helped me sharpen my organizational and collaborative skills.
Soon after, I returned to my passion for people and joined the HR field in the Travel and Tourism sector as an HR Assistant. I quickly discovered that HR wasn’t just about people—it was about managing everything connected to people in an organization. That insight solidified my interest in HR as a long-term career.
I’ve since worked nearly 10 years with Emaar in various HR roles, and currently, I’m with ENGIE, overseeing the full spectrum of HR functions—from policies and procedures, code of conduct, conflict management, and data analysis, to payroll, budgeting, recruitment, talent management, retention, and acquisition.
This is a glimpse of my journey—rooted in purpose, shaped by experience, and driven by a passion for people.
