Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Health, Safety and Environment best practice, ensuring the plant complies with current legislation, approved code of practices and government guidance.
• Work proactively with managers to establish and maintain safe system of work and a safe environment for all members of staff.
• Establish and maintain standards, processes, communication, trainings and systems to ensure all elements of HSE remain compliant.
• Ensure that all HSE policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated to all staff across the plant.
• Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations in all areas relating to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting
• Complete regular risk assessment reviews for all plant equipment and operations.
• Maintain an accurate, up to date accident and “near miss” log, ensuring that all accidents are documented and investigated, and any recommended improvements are implemented.
• Carry out regular safety inspections, fire drill, risk assessment updates, and review of procedures, ensuring employees are aware of their responsibilities regarding HSE
• Complete regular reviews and implement updates to the HSE policies and procedures.

Key Achievements

• Succeeded in building a positive HSE culture across the business which resulted in 30% reduction in the number of accidents and incidents reported per annum. 
• Reduced the injury frequency rate within 12 months by establishing reporting and investigation standards and implementing risk management concepts that led to the elimination of hazards.
• Reduced risk and control hazards by performing site audits to ensure compliance with HSE standards.
