I have a wide variety of relevant skills and laboratory experience. The modules I studied at ESTeSL (Portugal) give me a theoretical understanding of laboratorial processes whilst my responsibilities as a Biomedical Scientist (BMS). I am a IBMS certificated Specialist BMS in Medical Microbiology (United Kingdom).

I am extremely enthusiastic, self-motivated and thrived about my work in the laboratory, have excellent communication skills whether graphically, electronically or orally in a clear and effective way. I have an understanding of patient/customer confidentiality and use to working in a busy regulated environment demonstrated through my work as a BMS.I have up-to-date knowledge of a wide range of scientific techniques. I also have the ability to recognize problems even when multi-tasking, make judgments and decisions about job-related situations with the reporting of deficiencies in the systems during testing. As well as being self-motivated and hardworking individual, I am also able to prioritize and organize my own workload efficiently to set deadlines. I am flexible and reliable I have worked night shifts on short notice, also weekends and bank holidays. Throughout my career, I have been a flexible and reliable person and was able to adapt quickly to different working situations and environments with long periods of concentration. I am currently doing MSc In Healthcare Quality Management at Greenwich University (U.K.).

I am a IBMS certificated Specialist BMS in Medical Microbiology (United Kingdom). I have extensive knowledge in all microbiology areas and ability in processing all clinical specimens for culture and AST testing. All my laboratory experience give me the technical skills for training and supervise post- and pre-analytical processes. I have very good knowledge identifying different organisms and microscopy skills (light, fluorescence and polarised),  and work with a diverse number of equipments such as Vitek 2, BD Max system, BactAlert, UF1000i, sediMAX, GeneXpert, Accelerate and Covid19 testing. COVID testing includes viral extraction performed by Maxwell, LAMP on Genie HT (OptiGene) and qPCR on the MIC (Bio Molecular).
I understand the importance of strictly adhering to health and safety protocols and standard operating procedures. Through working safely in a laboratory environment I have a good understanding of Quality control making sure the laboratory is in agreement with UKAS standards. 
I have vast experience performing Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, Root Cause Analysis, Preventive Actions, Risk Grading and Corrective Actions/ Preventive Actions .
