I have 16+ years of experience in banking operations, during this tenor I have had exposures to various departments such as Clearing, PDC, Local bill discounting, Remittances, Payroll, Account opening, Customer relationship management, Operational Risk and Internal Audit.

 I hold an Operational Risk Manager (ORM) Certification from Professional Risk Managers International Association (PRMIA).I also hold a dual MBA in Operations and Finance from S.P Jain School of Global Management. 

As part of my current job I am responsible for carrying out internal audits of various branches and departments of NBQ so as to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal controls in place and the competency of the staff handling these areas

• Responsible for Operational Risk reviews of Head Office units and branches using RCSA ( Risk Control Self-Assessment) methodology.
• Responsible for investigation of incidents that could have resulted but not limited to financial losses.
• Responsible for collection and collation of data related to quarterly Central Bank Risk Based Survey related to Operational Risk.
• Responsible for review and designing of controls, policies & standards.
• Responsible for review of new or existing processes to identify various operational risks and to suggest controls so that the residual risk is within the banks risk appetite.
• Responsible for maintaining and updating various databases related to risk (Risk events and effects database, Incident management database, Operational loss database) to ensure timely updates to senior management.
• Assist the Business Continuity team with timely management of their activities.
• Responsible for investigation of various cash loss events across the bank’s branches and banks ATM’s.
• Working closely with the process improvements team for continuous improvement of existing processes for optimum performance.   
• Assist Finance team for calculation of Capital Charge for Operational Risk.
