Shanjith, a Btech Mechanical graduate with 2 years experience as procurement officer at Apollo Tyres Limited (plant), the Pandemic has brought an insight regarding my fast learning, team player skills and my ability to cope with rapid changes in minimal time which is why I am confident on being able to tackle anything regardless the department. I find it interesting to bring about new initiatives to make the job simpler so as to learn more regarding the department, tenacity is what pushes me thereby is self-motivated at all times.

My outgoing personality along with problem solving skill has helped in creating and maintaining numerous professional relationships with various vendors and has helped in resolving various issues with ease. I am also proficient with both SAP MM module and MS Excel, also my basic knowledge in AutoCAD 2D has helped in coordinating with project engineers and fabrication vendors.

Keen attention to detail and critical thinking are the two skills which has restricted me from making much errors, thereby keeping any losses to bare minimum and increasing profit.
 

Specialised in project purchase, thereby knows existing/drawings of proposed machinery for industry so as to place tendors to vendors across the country so as to obtain the best quotation without compromising quality in any level whatsoever.

Accomplishment : Sufficient experience in handling machine breakdowns where necessary actions were taken to ensure replacement within minimum time and ensuring productivity continues at the required level. Worked with team to ensure the plant had adequate materials during challenging times like Covid and Floods.

Task : Coordination of material procurement, negotiating with outside agencies. To handle high pressure situations and to take things to closure on time, Place tenders to the best possible vendors for various huge scale projects. Incorporated new ideas within the department mainly product and vendor development for easy, cost effective and reliable material procurement even for the future.

Responsibility : Negotiate with vendors and manage communication for effective material procurement and delivery. Creation and periodic updation of Monthly Inspection Report to superiors. Arranges vehicle for optimum material collection at minimal cost. Brings in new vendor business to improve productivity.

To unite the number of Engineering universities in Kerala, in the year 2015 a new university was introduced by the name APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) across the state with innovative ideas on how to maximise the output value of each Btech grad student, being a student in the first batch of the said university has proved vital for me, it has helped me rise back from minor setbacks during the period thereby helping me in developing a skill where I could get back no matter what the circumstance is, tenacity and perseverance which are stated among some of my skills was routed during this period.

Achievements-
• Entered in National level competition held by ASME on the topic Human Powered Vehicle.
• Played a major role in organizing and assigning duties to colleagues during college fests held by our department.
• First prize in intracollege mime competition.
• Choreographed and lead a dance team.
• Voluntary activities during the flood pandemic in the year 2018.
