About Shazia Farooq:
At present I am working as an Islamic B teacher/Coordinator in GEMS Westminster School RAK.
My additional responsibilities include as Pastoral Leader and Teacher / Learning Coordinator – Arabic department. My 10 years of teaching experience allowed me to become a well-qualified teacher with MOE Islamic curriculum subject by mentoring, tutoring, researching, and implementing Islamic values among my students.
My educational qualifications include:
· B.Ed - Islamic and English.
· B.A – Political Science and International relations.
· Diploma in Special Education Needs.
· PGCE - In progress and will be completed by July 2022.
I am well versed in mentoring, curriculum development, and maintaining good teaching and learning environment. My outstanding command over communication skills enables me to create a challenging as well as friendly work environment among colleagues and develops learning interest among students.
With over 10 years of hands-on teaching and leadership role, it is my goal to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, intelligent Islamic B Teacher, who is keen to make a positive contribution to your school.
As an Islamic B Teacher / Coordinator, I have always been striving to improve Islamic education standards. My main goal is to promote and instill Islamic principles and Values among young people by not only educating but also modeling them.
As an Islamic leader, one of my goals is to promote students' interest in Islamic education by involving them in exciting and engaging events. Use of Technology, role plays, story writing, Nasheed and Quran competitions, Project-based learning, Field trips, audio-visuals, and technology tools.
One of my greatest strengths is my leadership quality, which has optimized and has developed over time in means of my profession, with responsibilities such as mentoring and coaching has increased my passion to assist and encourage SODs which has led me to spread awareness and facilitate my colleagues with some new, exciting and efficient teaching strategies to meet each student’s unique learning needs by developing a personal understanding of each one of them.
My Islamic teaching experience in primary and secondary has always helped me to adapt my lesson plans according to the demands of different year groups. I've always attempted to keep MOE Islamic curriculum standards and requirements
By practicing these practices in my teaching, as a result, I have achieved “Very Good Teacher” status in both internal and external lesson observations.
My senior leaders also rely on my ability to present PLDs (professional learning development) to my peers, propose innovative ideas, communicate effectively with parents, and execute the best teamwork. I strongly believe in cultivating and sustaining strong working relationships with members of the department. My rewards as the best team player have always been the result of my ability to work together in harmony and ability to lead.
