I am an energetic, industrious and result driven teacher. I have worked hard to transform the humanities department into the most viable department at my previous school. I have a great passion for children, and I derive satisfaction from their achievements. I also managed to source donations for some orphaned students from a U K based organization called Esther Positioned and the children are currently benefiting at my previous school. I have 17 years’ experience of teaching history and geography and I have worked with a diverse pool of learners, and I managed to meet their diverse demands. I am a holder of a bachelor’s degree and a PGDE. I had many achievements in my teaching career. I am a high- archiver. I scored 100% pass rates in Advanced level history for several years at my previous school as indicated on my resume. I got awards for best teacher O level history in 2013 and 2016 at Mukombami high school. I improved geography pass rate by 20% in 2018. I am confident that I will bring positive results at your organization if I get the chance to be part of you.

I joined the teaching profession in 2004 as a teacher at Mukombami high school. I mainly taught humanities subjects like history, geography, and social studies. As a teacher I carried several roles. My main responsibility was on lesson delivery. I was also responsible for planning and assigning students class work, assignments and tests using relevant technology. One of my duties was also on recording attendance and academic progress. I was also involved in setting and marking of internal examinations to assess students’ performance and development. During my time in the teaching profession, I managed to improve the pass rate for advanced level history by scoring 100% pass rate for several years from 20016-2022. 

In 2010 I was appointed as the sports director. Was responsible for planning and implementing sporting calendars, organizing sport meetings and events, preparing sports budgets, reports, and requisitions, liaising with the deputy principal on sporting issues and many other duties.

In 2013 I was promoted to be the head of department for humanities. I supervised seven members. I was responsible for organizing and chairing departmental meetings. I created a climate which enabled all staff to develop positive attitudes towards the subject and confidence in teaching it. I was responsible for monitoring and evaluating teaching and learning across the department. I did research on academic and curricular changes affecting the subjects and update members. I ensured the existence of resources which can be used for differentiated teaching.

In 2019 I acted as a health master at Mukombami high school. I was responsible for assessing needs, resources, and capacity for health education at the school. I planned health education programs with neighboring schools, and I also served as a health education resource person. I was responsible for researching and evaluating issues related to health education and Implementing policies at the school. I was also buying and availing sanitary materials to learners and teachers.During this period of my career history I developed skills, knowledge and best qualities that fits me well in the teaching profession. 

I have acquired a Bachelor of Arts General degree from the university of Zimbabwe. I majored in humanities subject that is history and economic history. Through this educational program I have learnt a lot of skills that I think will add value to your organization. I acquire analytical and critical thinking skills which are very relevant in lesson delivery especially at advanced level learners. I also did communication skills in this program which had greatly improved my English language and I become competent in the teaching profession. I covered courses like research methods and development of economic thought which I applied in my teaching job. Other courses that I covered include, introduction to the study of women, history of western Europe, historical theories of imperialism, introduction to linguistics. I also did poetry, drama, and ethnomusicology. All these courses have been very relevant in my teaching career, and I think they will be very important in adding value to your organization.

The post graduate diploma which I did is also of great importance to my teaching profession. I covered perspectives in psychology which I think will be helpful in classroom management and control. Courses like philosophical perspectives in education, psychological perspectives in education and sociological perspectives in education were also going to be helpful in my role as a teacher at your school. I also did courses like computer applications in education, introduction to media and technology, entrepreneurship in education which are important in the execution of my duties. The guidance and counselling course that I covered is also very relevant in understanding the various situations of students and the best approaches that can be taken.The teaching practice that I did in geography and history has also helped me to become a competent and effective teacher in my career.
