Experience

The enclosed resume will highlight my career achievements and showcase my dedication to primary education. As a versatile educator, I have been able to instruct many students from various backgrounds and all facets of society. As a result, I am a compassionate teacher who remains sensitive to children's unique needs, and I have demonstrated different ranges of personal qualities required. I deliver lively, exciting lessons for the children in my care. I firmly believe that offering enthusiasm towards a topic is infectious and that if you can pass on your excitement about a subject, it catalyses children's drive to learn more, offers positive encouragement, and encourages students to stay focused and motivated. My teaching style incorporates a diversity of teaching methodologies and techniques. I strongly advocate for hands-on and minds-on learning because I understand that supplementing the curriculum with various activities is essential to the learning process. By enthusiastically engaging students in fascinating lessons and using strategies that address each child's learning style, it has allowed students to achieve academic success and build the self-confidence to continue taking risks during the learning process.

I have explored summative and formative assessments, including diagnostic assessments, and analysed learners' achievements. I made detailed assessments of the children's work. I used them to implement my lesson planning and effective use of APP (Assessing Pupil Progress) because it enables learners to recognise achievement and make progress. Teachers must shape and adapt our teaching to individual needs and aspirations. My current school uses Philosophy for Children (P4C) as the ideal tool to stimulate thinking skills. P4C improves children's critical, creative, and rigorous thinking. It helps to develop higher-order thinking skills, improve communication skills, and help children learn to cooperate with others. At the start of each topic, I ask open-ended questions to gauge what they already know, enabling me to plan the areas of learning to be developed.

As a reflective practitioner, I regularly evaluate lessons to analyse improvement, progress, and achievement. Reflection on lesson plans and observations helps to identify misconceptions and has allowed me to adapt my teaching strategies and techniques for future lessons. Using the Assessment for Learning (AfL) cycle, I have become more aware of the importance of observation and its role in gaining a greater understanding of children's learning, behaviourism, and organising lessons that are effectively differentiated to ensure the inclusion of all learners. Consequently, it is crucial to determine each child's dominant learning style and continually monitor each student's academic progress through various assessments, to plan instruction that draws upon each child's strengths to improve intellectual development.

I have created vibrant classroom displays that supported thematic, topic-based learning and celebrated children's achievements. I incorporated interactive elements into classroom displays (working walls) that are bright colours, durable, engaging, interactive, and fully support children's learning. Displays are fundamental because they contribute to inclusion and social and cultural diversity promotion. After all, it helps children (EAL) and SEN and allows higher ability children to investigate topics in greater depth and with greater autonomy.

One of the most effective ways I assist my EAL (English as an additional language) students is by developing, presenting, understandable, and stimulating lesson plans that facilitate all learning styles. I research, locate, and incorporate a variety of resources to accommodate students via visual, audio, phonic activities, flashcards, and multi-sensory to ensure that each child can comprehend and retain the concepts and language.

The talent to build meaningful relationships with my students and the determination to "go the extra mile" are two more of my strengths as a teacher. By developing an honest, open, and respectful relationship, students will know that I understand and accept them as they are. I have committed to working as hard as necessary and spending as much time as necessary to make students academically and emotionally successful. My ethos for the classroom strongly encourages children to express their ideas and suggestions, as it is essential for them to have control over their learning. It is vital to create an atmosphere that encourages children to ask questions because I believe children learn best through first-hand experiences and stimulating environments, including the appropriate use of the outside environment.

Having a professional background in EYFS, I have gained a more robust understanding of patience and the mental block that all children go through. By obtaining different tactics and tools, I can teach materials with a diverse approach. I have secured a more comprehensive knowledge of why creativity is essential in classrooms and its influential impact on children's learning because it glorifies learning and intends to stimulate and develop creativity within children.

I look forward to contributing my skills and experiences to encourage students to enjoy the adventure of learning whilst nurturing everyone in the drive to help them fulfil their personal and academic potential. To conclude, my goal as a teacher is to instil a passion for learning within my students while providing them with an educational environment that is encouraging and positive. I hope to provide the skills and tools necessary for success and foster each student's talents, giving them the confidence to embrace their dreams and make them a reality. Students will look back on their time with me and remember me as a teacher who genuinely cared for their well-being. My peers will recall me as a professional who was always eager to participate and a mentor who actively contributed to the growth and development of the school community.

Kind regards,

Suhaila Suleiman
