My role at Jacob Bethel covers a lots of accounting tasks from reviewing reconciliations in the system to preparation of financial statements and management accounts. 

• Petty cash and Bank management: Reviewing petty cash and bank reconciliations.
• Receivables management:  timely customer follows up for payments and settlements and report the same weekly to the finance manager. 
• Reporting:  Preparation of Management Accounts. 
• Cash flows: weekly cash flow reports 
• Balance sheet: Monthly Balance sheet review. 
• Payables and reconciliation: Reviewing payables reconciliation and ensuring that they are paid following the agreed credit terms. 
• Coordination: Coordinating with operations team for payments, cheques and cash collection and advance payments to government and vital vendors.
• Auditing: Preparing audit file and liaising with external auditors for smooth audit process. 
• Month’s end and Year end closings: Participate in the month end and year end closing, making sure all costs and expenses are booked and all revenue has been collected and booked from various cost centres 
• Intercompany : Ensuring that the intercompany is reconciled .

Company: Truworths (Manufacturing Division) Location: Zimbabwe

Dates: October 2019 – November 2020 

As the management for Bravette Manufacturing I was responsible for cost controlling and ensuring that the trial balance was accurately prepared before consolidation by the Chief Accountant with other chains.

• Maintained the accounts and trial balance for the manufacturing division using Sage X3 
• Managed to resolve the unreconciled merged debtors account.
• Improved communication between stores, accounts and the factory manager which had resulted in numerous credit notes being passed post year end.
• Supervision of stock take and recommending that old stock be moved to obsolete status where necessary.
• Prepared the audit file for manufacturing division and attending to external auditors’ queries as well as assisting bookkeepers for other divisions to ensure that audit was completed in the shortest period
• Preparation of budgets and variance analysis.

Position:  Payables Accountant  

Company: Montclair Hotel and Casino : Zimbabwe

Dates: March 2019 – July  2019 

As the Payables Accountant I was more responsible for payables management .

• Supplier Ledger Maintenance & Bank Reconciliations .
• Duty management representing General Manager for the assigned days according to duty rota. 
• Preparing general journal postings (recurring, standing journals, payroll and depreciation journal.
• Recording Casino Ledger and Hotel Ledger reconciling item.
• Processing payments using Oracle Flexicube and Paynet
