Thomas Shouler

Originally from Cardiff, Wales now residing in Abu Dhabi, UAE. I come from a long line of English teachers and I have been passionate about language from a young age. The construction and forms of language I find fascinating, but more than this I appreciate its place in communication and human interaction. This is why now I turn to EFL teaching, as I feel its modern methods are in line with my beliefs and interests. I am highly creative and enjoy planning stimulating lessons to inspire a class. I am adept at working in a team and have experience in communicating with students of all levels and ages. 

Recently I have also retrained as a Social Media Specialist, completing a Masters in Social Media Management and have 2 years experience in the field. I look forward to putting my training into practice.

I have many outside interests including 5-a-side football, reading philosophy and cult cinema. 

I remain committed to improving my skills further and contributing to the success of my future company.

I have a wide background in Business English training and have been teaching professionals for the past six years, implementing various methods to create practical linguistic solutions for their work environment. 

I can count industry leaders such as Lamborghini, IMA Group, Carpigiani, FAAC and CRIF amongst my previous clients. For these companies I provided Business English solutions for a variety of students including technicians, top level management, sales teams and expats. 

I have also written and taught exam preparation, individual and group English Language courses.

I have strong experience in general English education and have been teaching Italian students from elementary to high school level for the past six years, implementing various methods to provide supplementary private education for their school studies. At times my course plans had to be in line with their curriculums. At other times I had the freedom to be creative and innovative in creating my courses.

I am a certified TEFL teacher, having completed a course in 2015
