Vanessa Toribio

I am currently working as Head of PE for Primary at GEMS Cambridge International School in Dubai. In this position, I am responsible for implementing and designing the PE curriculum that focuses on cultivating on physical health and fitness, holistic wellness, moral character, socio-cultural sensitivity, and competency. I am also responsible for preparing the department timetables, teacher allocation, primary school action plan, scheme of work, and the PE Programme. 

In addition, I plan all the ECAs/ ASAs sports Activities, Inter-house activities and Annual Sports Day as well as preparing fixtures and matches for all inter-school competitions. I also manage and train the school Basketball and Volleyball Girls' teams, which I thoroughly enjoy.

As the Head of Primary PE, I have experience as a dynamic leader that can support and mentor others within the school.

Over the past 17 years, I have gained ample experience in the field of Education. I have my Swimming level 1 and 2 Certificates, Duke of Edinburgh's International Award (Level 1 and 2) - Award Verifier. and this year have received my Transitional Teaching License (TR-2022-T-16-027130).

I would describe myself as someone who is passionate about education and ensuring all students reach their full potential. I believe that I can make a valuable contribution to your organization. 

I have 17 years of experience in the teaching field. during this years, I have handle several  positions such as Head of PE primary, Assistant Head, Sports Coordinator, and Head of the Year 5. Also, I have gained ample experience in the field of Education. I have my Swimming level 1 and 2 Certificates, Duke of Edinburgh's International Award (Level 1 and 2) - Award Verifier. 

I have done the following certificates:

1. Swimming level 1 and level 2.
2.  Cambridge Assessment International Education Introductory to Primary Physical Education.
3. Duke of Edinburgh's Level 1 and 2, and the Award Verifier
4. This year I am doing the CAIE Professional Development Qualifications Teaching and Learning Certificate Course.
