Having graduated with a Master’s degree from Admiral Makarov State University Maritime and Inland Shipping, I have gone through the best educational path that a person willing to build a seagoing career can choose in my home country.
Since starting my seagoing career, including the biggest short-sea RoRo in the world, I have gained valuable experience, including containter and IMDG cargo, learned to analyze and sort out complicated cases while dealing with high-intensive fleet operations.
While the ferry business is all about speed, that employment period has taught me to arrange precise planning of all the processes I was involved in, thus avoiding mistakes that I will have no time to
rectify. Another thing is experience in fulfilling Anglo Eastern Ship Management requirements that were not fully adjusted for RoRo business - I still found it possible to comply with company standards, while my predecessors did not even try in some particular cases. As a result of my work, a number of internal audits and inspections were passed flawlessly regarding everything I touched during my trips. During my activity on board, despite the rank, Masters delegated me a lot of administrative and management tasks — from some minor things related to planned maintenance up to executing full on-board procedures before and after crew changes. This was only possible because of the fact that I have proven my approach to work by being highly responsible, scrupulous and time-efficient. Fluent and literate English is one of my advantages, along with, to be true, an obsessive aspiration to maintain an ideal order in all the things that I touch.
All the things mentioned above made possible my quick promotion up to 2nd Officer due to high respect earned among every crew I worked in.
Today, based in UAE, I find an opportunity to be appointed to a shore-based position as a desired way to focus on things I am able to do best, instead of sitting on two chairs at the same time, spending time on routine officer tasks, while finding possibilities to execute management objectives.
