Qualified Primary Teacher, PGCE with iQTS from Birmingham Uni
Experience
Dear Hiring Team,
I am writing to express my enthusiasm for the teaching position at your school in Dubai, and to outline why I believe I am the right candidate for this role.
I have been working at two different British Schools this year, within Year 3 and 4, as part of the PGCE with iQTS programme (Birmingham University, Dubai). I have been extremely lucky to be working at these schools and to have had amazing mentors, who have not only assisted me in this process of teaching but have also taught me how and what a school teacher should look like.
Throughout my placements I have developed a deep passion for working with children in the Primary age group. I have found this to be particularly rewarding, as students are curious, eager to learn, and transitioning into more complex academic concepts. My experience in this area includes Year 3 and Year 4. I was lucky enough to be at Victory Heights Primary School Dubai (also British Curriculum), for my first placement serving and focusing on Year 4. My Experience at Horizon International has also included Key Stage 1 (Year 1) as well as teaching Phonics – and I am very flexible in whichever Year group you can consider me for.
One of my strengths as a teacher is my ability to create engaging and inclusive learning environments where all students feel valued and supported. I believe in fostering a classroom culture that celebrates diversity (which we see all around us here in Dubai) and encourages students to embrace their individual strengths and talents. I have experience in implementing various instruction to meet the needs of all diverse learners and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed, without the need for differentiation, teaching from the top.
In addition to my teaching experience, I bring a range of skills and qualities that I believe align well with the requirements of this role. These include:
Strong communication skills: I communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents, fostering positive relationships and open lines of communication.
Creativity and innovation: I enjoy finding new and creative ways to deliver curriculum content, making learning fun and memorable for students.
Adaptability: I am flexible and adaptable in my teaching approach, able to adjust to the changing needs of students and respond effectively to unexpected challenges.
Commitment to professional development: I am dedicated to continuous learning and growth, regularly seeking out opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills in education.
Furthermore, I am excited about the prospect of joining a dynamic and supportive team like yours. I am impressed by your school's commitment to providing a high-quality education for all students and by the sense of community that has been evident through researching your school. I would love to join such an organic community-feel school as my first proper teaching role, my teaching philosophy aligns with that of the school perfectly I would say!
In conclusion, I am confident that my experience, skills, and passion for teaching make me well-suited to the teaching position at your school. I am eager to bring my enthusiasm and dedication to your team and to contribute to the success and development of your students. My mentors can vouch for this personal statement and for my personal commitment and resilience I have shown on my teaching practice at my other schools.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how I can contribute to your school further.
Sincerely
Yasmin Khan
