We are looking for a Vulnerability Assessor to work in Washington, DC supporting our client.

Clearance: US Citizen

Salary: $95,000

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 4 years of professional experience
  
• Support ESOC enclave, OneNet, and RTIC through conducting scheduled and ad-hoc vulnerability scanning
  
• Employs ad-hoc or emergency VA scanning to support targeted incident investigation, escalation and emergency response to security events in accordance with documented procedures
  
• Coordinates with Component security staff to explain findings, provide recommendations on mitigations, and advocate for mitigation of vulnerabilities
  
• Conducts, operates, and maintains assessments and the resulting Vulnerability Assessment (VA) data and reports
  
• Conducts Host-based and Network Vulnerability Assessments
  
• Conducts Database Vulnerability Assessments
  
• Conducts Web-based Vulnerability Assessments
  
• Provides strategic guidance and assist in the implementation of a more centralized work area for the Vulnerability Assessment Team (VAT) via JIRA and Confluence

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, walk, stand and climb stairs and steps. May require walking long distance from parking to work station. Occasionally, movement that requires twisting at the neck and/or trunk more than the average person, squatting/ stooping/kneeling, reaching above the head, and forward motion will be required. The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.

Job Duties:

• Create and publish security related alerts, bulletins, and notifications to all DHS components based on identified software and hardware vulnerabilities and monitor for compliance.
  
• Continuously research emerging threats to the environment in order to disseminate the information to all stakeholders, immediately assess the known environment for presence of the vulnerability, and work with the ESOC and enterprise networking teams to proactively block exploitation within the DHS environment.
