    PositionOverview
    TheDirector, Event Technology is responsible for leading a successfulsales and operations team to achieve the revenue and profitabilitygoals of an assigned location(s). This position ensures the teamdelivers World-Class service while cultivating and maintainingrelationships with key venue personnel to enhance the overallbusiness relationship with the venue. The Director promotes highperformance, accountability and continuous improvement in the teamand fosters a collaborative environment that values learning and acommitment to quality. This role will report to an Area Director,Venues or an RVP,Venues.

    KeyJobResponsibilities

    AccountManagement
    • Developand maintain strong relationships with clients at all levels oftheir organization and provide outstanding customer service whilefocusing on customerretention.
    • Serviceevents and act as a point of escalation whenneeded.
    • Identifykey issues and decision makers that will influence the contractrenewal and leverage all available internal resources to facilitatethe planning effort for renewing existingbusiness.
    • Consultswith Venue Sales Leadership on salesstrategies
    • Createsand participates in business reviewpresentations.

    FinancialManagement andReporting

    • DriveResults by managing an efficient and profitable operation with afocused approach on revenue maximization and profitability usingcost control measures in accordance with the company s standardoperating procedures.
    • Strategicallyensure event profitability is maintained based on proper staffingperevent
    • Achievesthe company s financial goals for the location(s) by effectivelydirecting the management of labor, equipment sub-rentals and othercosts.
    • Trainand directs operations and sales managers to complete standard andad hoc reports.
    • Completeand analyze reports to effectively manage thebusiness.
    • Enforcethe utilization of the company billing system, coordination ofinvoicing activities and that billing is reviewed and approved byclients.
    • Reviewlocation P & L and develops action plans to addressdeficiencies/grow thebusiness
    • Confirmvenue partners process all payments in a timelybasis.

    OperationsManagement

    • Performand directs daily floor operations including scheduling andequipment setups, operation, and strikes are completed, and inaccordance to brandstandards.
    • Responsiblefor the strategic, long-term direction of large and small hightech, high volume events at theproperty.
    • Confirmoperations team is using inventory control procedures to maintainproper inventory levels while also maintaining safety, security,and quality assurance of equipment.
    • Seethe big picture by efficiently sharing labor and equipment withinthe localmarket.
    • Guaranteesa management presence at all venue meetings, such as daily standups or sales meetings.
    • Seethe big picture by analyzing schedules and available labor andequipment resources and makes recommendations for labor andequipment sharing within local markets.

    TechnicalAbility

    • Understandthe technical aspects of the job and applies basic to advancedtroubleshooting and problem solving skills to resolve equipment andsoftware issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Effectivelyutilizes applicable company computersystems.
    • Actas the solo on-site technician for events, ifnecessary.

    SalesManagement

    • HoldSales Manager and/or Sr. Sales Manager accountable to maintaining ahealthy pipeline at all times to achieve established revenuetargets.
    • Confirmall known opportunities are in CRM and completed accurately andupdated at alltimes.
    • Seethe Big Picture by leading the sales forecasting efforts at homelocation(s), ensuring they are accurate and submitted timely.
    • Createand present information and reports, as needed, to seniormanagement related to performance, pipeline, forecasting,etc.
    • Maintainknowledge of new product/service offerings and emerging technologysupporting meetings andevents.
    • Effectivelyprepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner tocustomers, including those submitted through online form, venuebooking system, or other sources asassigned.
    • Createeffective strategies to maximize revenue per-event for assignedcustomers including upsell and cross-sellopportunities.
    • Prepareand deliver compelling presentations that convey the value of thecompany and effectively solve customerchallenges.
    • Understandevent cost structure and incorporate into solution designsaccording to established profitability guidelines.
    • Attendcustomer meetings, understanding their goals and responding totheir questions, concerns, andchallenges.
    • Dothe Right Thing by ensuring all customer information is up to dateand accurate in the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM)at alltimes.

    CustomerService

    • DeliverWorld-Class Service by cultivating and maintaining relationshipswith customers, venue personnel and various company supportingfunctions and departments.
    • Leadthe team to exceed the expectations and needs of internal andexternal customers.
    • Meetwith guests on site or assigns this to a team member, and verifyequipment is setup accurately and working properly to customerneeds, and verify the team is monitoring each event and checking inon customers throughout the day.
    • Enforcethe guidelines in the Employee Guide and/or venue standards for theteam to portray a polished and professional image.

    PeopleDevelopment

    • ValuePeople by promoting a culture of high performance, accountabilityand continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment toquality.
    • Directsand Manages performance, addresses employee concerns, maintainsadequate staffing levels, and facilitates team development.
    • Navigatethe union labor market and associated management dynamics, whereapplicable.
    • Directsand Manages the human resources activities including selection,performance management, and learning.
    • Directsand provides focused and continued coaching to develop the skillsof team members.
    • Verifiesthat employees are trained on the companys standards for serviceand equipment, and properly trained on company computer systems.
    • Recommendsteam members for training opportunities, asneeded

    JobQualifications

    • HighSchool Diploma is required. Bachelor s degree is preferred.
    • 3+years (Director I), 5+ years (Director II) of audio visualexperience
    • 2+years (Director I), 5+ years (Director II) of hospitalityexperience which encompasses sales/customer serviceexperience
    • 1+year (Director I), 3+ years (Director II) of operationssupervisory/management experience that the revenue managed was$500, million/yr.
    • Proficiencywith the use of computerhardware
    • Proficiencywith computer software and programs, including the Internet andMicrosoftOffice
    • Workingknowledge of audio-visual equipment in a live show environment(setting and striking basic sets of audio visual gear for smallerconferences, meetings, classrooms,etc.)
    • Effectiveleadership abilities and customer satisfaction and peopledevelopmentfocus.
    • Avalid driver s license is required for team members who may operateCompany vehicles.

    WorkEnvironment


    Workis performed in a venue/convention center environment with moderateexposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. Theworking conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisyvolumes. Team members will use high-end audio visual equipment andelectrical components, and will be exposed to heights via lifts andladders. Team members may be asked to work in multiple venuelocations. Working times will include irregular hours and on-callstatus including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Teammembers must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by thecompany based on an individual venue or a representation of venuesin that city or area.
