- Performs daily husbandry tasksincluding administration of vitamins and medication asdirected
- Prepares food, provides propernutrition and constant care ofanimals
- Maintains a safe, appropriate andsanitary living conditions for all animalhabitats
- Applies proficient behavioralmodification techniques. This includes, but is not limited indeveloping and implementing new behavior, training ofnaïve animals with minimum supervision,training behavior to completion without supervision, proactivelymaintaining conditioned behavior, and the ability to formrelationships with most, if not all, of the animals in assignedarea
- Ensures guests, personal, andanimals' safety through constantmonitoring of the behavioral precursors of potentially harmfulbehavior by both animals and people
- Assists onthe training of colleagues and animals as directed by theleadership
- Provides proactive guest servicesthrough guest interactions, pre and post shows, and responding toguest inquiries
- Performs assigned roles ineducation and general public programs, and guest interactionprograms
- Makes daily observations of animalsand reports any abnormalities to the leadershipteam
- Maintains all animal records, equipment,area responsibilities, and communication requirements on a dailybasis
- Functions as Ambassador by displayingconsideration, tolerance, cooperation, open communication, andreliability; maintains a consistent attitude, motivation, andability to accept feedback
