    Job Description The school counselor plays a crucial role in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional needs. They provide individual and group counseling sessions to help students with personal issues, academic challenges, and career development. They collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop strategies and interventions to support students' well-being and success.

    Additionally, school counselors assist in the implementation of school-wide programs and initiatives aimed at fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct individual counseling sessions with students to address personal concerns.
    • Facilitate group counseling sessions to promote social-emotional development and peer support.
    • Collaborate with teachers to develop academic and behavioral intervention plans for students.
    • Provide career counseling to help students explore career options and set goals.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide programs on topics like bullying prevention and mental health awareness.
    • Advocate for students' needs and coordinate resources within the school and community.
    • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' strengths and challenges.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and interventions.
    • Stay updated on current research and best practices in school counseling.
    • Attend professional development opportunities to enhance counseling skills and knowledge. Requirements
    • Master's degree in school counseling or a related field.
    • State certification or licensure as a school counselor.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Empathy and the ability to build trusting relationships with students.
    • Knowledge of counseling theories and techniques.
    • Familiarity with relevant laws and ethical standards in counseling.
    • Experience working with diverse student populations.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
