Job Title: AI Ethics & Governance Specialist (Industrial AI) - (1 Position)
About the Job
We are seeking an experienced AI Ethics & Governance Specialist to build and operate governance, risk and compliance practices for industrial AI systems. The role focuses on ensuring safe, transparent and accountable deployment of machine learning models and AI-driven automation in industrial settings (energy, IoT, predictive maintenance, control systems). You will partner with product, ML, MLOps, legal and operations teams to define policy, run model risk assessments, establish monitoring and audit processes, and translate ethical principles into concrete technical and operational controls.
Responsibilities
Design and implement an AI governance framework for the full model lifecycle: development, validation, deployment, monitoring and decommissioning.
Conduct model risk assessments and impact analyses (safety, reliability, fairness, privacy, security) for industrial AI use cases.
Define and enforce policies for model documentation (model cards, data sheets), versioning, testing, and explainability requirements.
Specify and validate technical controls: explainability methods, fairness metrics, robustness testing, adversarial resilience, and privacy-preserving techniques.
Work with MLOps and DevOps teams to embed monitoring, alerting and logging for model performance, drift, data quality and anomalous behavior.
Establish audit-ready processes and evidence collection for internal reviews, vendor assessments and external regulators.
Create standards, checklists and mandatory gating criteria for production model approval and release.
Collaborate with legal, compliance and procurement to evaluate third-party models, tools and cloud/edge services for governance risks.
Design and deliver training, playbooks and governance tooling for engineers, product owners and business stakeholders.
Stay current with AI ethics research, industry best practices, and relevant regulatory frameworks; advise on implications for industrial deployments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Ethics & Technology Policy, Law, or related field.
3+ years professional experience in AI governance, model risk, ML engineering, MLOps, or compliance roles; experience with industrial or embedded AI is strongly preferred.
Practical knowledge of model evaluation methods: explainability (SHAP, LIME), fairness metrics, robustness testing, calibration and uncertainty estimation.
Experience with production ML tooling, MLOps pipelines, and monitoring stacks; familiarity with telemetry, streaming data and on-device inference is a plus.
Strong understanding of data governance, privacy principles (data minimization, anonymization), and security implications for AI systems.
Ability to translate ethical principles into measurable controls, acceptance criteria and engineering requirements.
Excellent stakeholder skills: able to run cross-functional programs, influence product roadmaps and produce clear governance artifacts.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Professional certifications in data governance, privacy or risk management are an advantage.
