Job Title:
Procurement Manager - Supermarket and Wholesale Division (Food)


Responsibilities:


  • Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement procurement strategies specific to the UAE food market, focusing on ecommerce and supermarket sales channels. Align strategies with the company's objectives, emphasizing cost efficiency and maintaining highquality standards.
  • Local Vendor Identification: Leverage your UAE experience and industry knowledge to identify and onboard local vendors, suppliers, and distributors that can provide a diverse range of food products suitable for both ecommerce and supermarket retail.
  • Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating terms, pricing, and contractual agreements to ensure consistent supply and favorable terms.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with the inventory team to maintain optimal stock levels, preventing stockouts while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement stringent quality control measures to ensure that all procured food items meet regulatory standards and customer expectations.
  • Cost Optimization: Continuously monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to identify costsaving opportunities without compromising on product quality.
  • Ecommerce Procurement: Oversee the sourcing and procurement of food products specifically tailored for the ecommerce platform, considering factors like packaging and shipping requirements.
  • Supplier Performance Evaluation: Regularly assess vendor performance, evaluating key performance indicators (KPIs) and conducting supplier reviews to drive continuous improvement.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with all relevant UAE laws, regulations, and food safety standards in the procurement process.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage the procurement team, fostering a collaborative and goaloriented work environment.

Requirements:


  • UAE Experience: Proven track record of at least 5 years in food procurement within the UAE, with a strong network of local vendors and suppliers.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Additional certifications in procurement or supply chain management are advantageous.
  • Food Industry Knowledge: Indepth understanding of the UAE food market, including local vendors, food products, distribution channels, and market dynamics.
  • Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation and communication skills to secure favorable terms and pricing from suppliers.
  • Ecommerce Procurement: Experience in sourcing products for ecommerce platforms, considering unique packaging and fulfillment requirements.
  • Team Management: Proven leadership skills to lead, mentor, and motivate a procurement team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to make datadriven decisions, analyze market trends, and identify costsaving opportunities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with UAE food safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining ethical and legal compliance in procurement activities.
  • Vendor Network: Established network and relationships with local food vendors and suppliers in the UAE.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and goaloriented work environment.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
