    ASSISTANTCONTROLLER

    Overview

    Ourclient, a premier Southwest Florida resort destination, is seekinga full-time Assistant Controller to join their growing accountingteam. In this hands-on accounting position, you will work alongsidethe Director of Finance & Accounting to support theformulation and implementation of accounting systems, assist withthe development and evaluation of budgets, and support theaccounting department with all aspects of the general ledger. Thisis a unique opportunity to join an expanding department and bringyour accounting expertise in Restaurant, Retail, PropertyDevelopment, Real Estate Management, Marina or Construction to aresponsive team eager to incorporate yourknowledge.

    Responsibilities andEssentialFunctions

    • Managethe day-to-day operations of the accounting department and assiststhe Director of Finance & Accounting in providing financialleadership to the business including payroll, accounts payable,accounts receivable, taxes and internalcontrols
    • Assistin development and implementation of accounting systems, methods,procedures and internalcontrols
    • Coordinatemore complex accounting projects, functions, and initiatives withother members of the accounting and finance team or with otherdepartments
    • Utilizeaccounting IT systems to facilitate processes and maintainrecords
    • Supervisethe Accounts Payableteam
    • Participatewith the preparation of GAAP financial statements, includingbudgeting andforecasting
    • Assistwith preparations foraudits
    • Ensureall accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelinesand established accountingprinciples
    • Delegatesaccounting tasks to junior accountingstaff
    • Contributesto team efforts by accomplishing related tasks asneeded

    Requirements

    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field is required, witha background in the followingindustries:
      • Restaurant
      • Retail
      • PropertyDevelopment
      • RealEstateManagement
      • MarinaandConstruction
      • Atleast 10 years of Accountingexperience
      • CPApreferred
    • Experiencewith system conversion and processre-engineering
    • Strongunderstanding of complex entity accounting and consolidations, aswell as intercompany account reconciliations andtransactions
    • Excellentcommunication, interpersonal, and critical thinkingskills
    • Detailoriented and highly organized, with a proficiency in timemanagement and taskprioritization
    • Preferredexperience with Restaurant 365, NetSuites, or MRI Tenant Managementsystems

    Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field isrequired, with a background in the following industries: RestaurantRetail Property Development Real Estate Management Marina andConstruction At least 10 years of Accounting experience CPApreferred Experience with system conversion and processre-engineering Strong understanding of complex entity accountingand consolidations, as well as intercompany account reconciliationsand transactions Excellent communication, interpersonal, andcritical thinking skills Detail oriented and highly organized, witha proficiency in time management and task prioritization Preferredexperience with Restaurant 365, NetSuites, or MRI Tenant Managementsystems
