- Coordinates and participates inexternal health information technology (IT) policy advocacy,including standards, by: leading participation in health IT federaland state public policy advocacy and standards developmentorganizations, in coordination with Government Relations and Legal;driving the preparation and delivery of testimony, presentations,and/or participation in committees and public policy and standardsforums; and leading and participating in the provision ofrepresentation at external industry groups, standards developmentorganizations, partnership organizations, government advisorygroups, and key coalitions in formulating and advocatingmulti-stakeholder health IT policy related to health IT topics(e.g., health IT standards, interoperability, quality, privacy,cybersecurity, public health, health equity, advancedtechnologies), consistent with KP public policy principles andpositions.
- Provides internal consulting at KPon health IT issues by: driving the identification, development,and recommendation of KP strategic policy positions on health ITissues; advising and influencing senior executives across all KPregions, functions, programs, and entities on the adoption andimplementation of finalized federal and/or state policies relatedto health IT topics (e.g., (e.g., health IT standards,interoperability, quality, privacy, cybersecurity, public health,health equity, advanced technologies); advising and leadingconsultation with internal stakeholders and teams regardingpotential impact or interpretation of finalized federal and/orstate complex health IT policies; and leading the facilitation andcoordination of the creation of policies around selected health ITpolicies.
- Tracks, assesses, and responds tohealth IT-related legislations, regulations, and sub-regulatoryactions by: overseeing the monitoring, identification,prioritization, and documentation of health IT federal, state, andindustry policy and standard developments; leading the management,development, and coordination of KP response and action plans inreaction to proposed health IT-related national and stateregulation, laws, and sub-regulatory actions in collaboration withleaders across KP regions, functions, and entities; and leading thereview, assessment, and response to new health IT federal, and/orstate legislations, regulations, or sub-regulatory actions, and/orindustry policies to identify and address emergent risks thataffect or may affect KP.
- Facilitates strategicchanges at KP around health IT-related policies and standards by:leading the creation and management of connections andcommunications for KPs national and regional leaders about healthIT standards and policy-related technical requirements efforts;leading the assessment and coordination of updates to internal KPsecurity and cybersecurity policy owned by the Technology RiskOrganization (TRO); and leading coordination across leadership, ITportfolios, and functions to communicate strategic policy directionrelated to health IT and identify IT impacts of strategies andpolicies.
