Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Provide guidance and support to departmental managers and supervisors on safety-related matters, including risk assessment and hazard control measures.
- Deliver effective safety training programs to employees at all levels, covering topics such as workplace ergonomics, chemical safety, emergency response procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and other relevant safety-related data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety, health, and environmental stewardship throughout the organization.
- Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in the field of occupational health and safety, and recommend appropriate measures to address changing needs and requirements.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, insurance providers, and other external stakeholders on safety-related matters as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or a related field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), or similar professional certification preferred.
