Key Responsibilities:


As the Commercial and Contracts Manager, you will manage the commercial operations of the respective studios and projects within the Middle East region, working closely with the Regional Commerical Lead.


Working alongside the studio leaders, stream leaders, project managers and finance teams, you will be providing commercial direction, negotiation, establishment and variations for major projects to deliver them to a profit.


  • Assisting project leaders resolve commercial issues during the life of projects.
  • Commercial aspects (including contract management):
  • Providing commercial direction, negotiation, establishment and variations for major projects to deliver them to a profit.
  • Accountabilities include ensuring project fees, contracts, variations for projects are properly drafted, negotiated, documented, and recorded.
  • Reviewing fees and bids from a commercial perspective (terms, liability and insurance).
  • Supporting project leaders resolve commercial issues.
  • Business management best practice:
  • In collaboration with the respective studios, responsible for ensuring projects are established effectively, leveraging systems/ processes.
  • Ensuring studio leaders are driving the effective management of projects and the business.
  • Forecasts and forward resourcing.
  • Overseeing activities associated with WIP, revenue takeup project performance and collections.
  • Compliance supporting the practice in it's compliance with legislative and industry compliance activities (and the associated training).

Commercial & Contracts Manager Experience:

  • BSC in Business, Construction Law, Quantity Surveying or Engineering from a recognised institution preferred
  • MRICS is highly advantageous
  • Ideally, this role requires someone who has large practice experience within the Middle East and has previously worked in a similar role involving Major scale architectural project delivery.
  • The management of small to medium practices (end to end commercial practices).
  • Selfmotivated and enthusiastic with the requisite personal drive and energy needed to help build the practice of the future.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Demonstrate operational excellence in using e.g. financial and project management reporting tools, systems and processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with exceptional analytical and problemsolving capabilities.
