We are looking for a:

Credit Control Officer M/F
based in Dubai


The "big picture":


  • Budget targets for Bad debts and DRO improvements
  • Supervise a skilled credit control team who support our clientfacing colleagues with collections and reconciliation
  • Ownership and accountability for credit control and counterparty management oversite of broker and reinsurers to ensure portfolio performance
  • Build relationships with Marsh colleagues from multiple offices and drive continuous improvement
  • Work closely with the Portfolio Specialist and be responsible for communicating feedback within your team and supported offices, identifying trends, evaluating/resolving any escalated service issues, and playing a key role in the growth of the department

We will count on you to:

  • Manage the Credit Control and Cash Allocation team (5/6 people based in Mumbai)
  • Take ownership and accountability for credit control and counterparty management oversite of broker and reinsurers to ensure portfolio performance
  • Monitor reinsurance premium payments to ensure contractual obligations are met and reinsurers remunerated for cover afforded
  • Review and evaluation of contract terms to ensure due dates are captured allowing timely recovery of reinsurance balances
  • Perform evaluation of actual vs estimated premium and Revenue Collection
  • Liaise with Reinsurance Accounting Management team, underwriting lines of business, claims, Brokers and Reinsurers to resolve queries
  • Establish and own Broker and Reinsurer meetings to drive cash collection
  • Secure monthly reporting into Group Finance and back to underwriting team to seek agreement and understanding of all material movements
  • Reconcile receivable balances between related parties books
  • Ensure compliance with the Finance month/quarter/yearend deadline requirements
  • Share knowledge on portfolio handling across Reinsurance accounting team to ensure business continuity
  • Support key departmental initiatives and projects such as change in core reinsurance systems, control and process enhancement and admin development
  • Analyse Aged Debt to ensure reduction in >30day debt and prevention of further debt deterioration
  • Conduct portfolio analysis of reinsurer exposure, Reinsurer and Broker payment performance as well as program and line of business performance
  • Deliver team training on credit control and counterparty management practice and procedure
  • Manage NOC protocol

People Management:


  • Manage day to day performance of team members and monitor KPIs
  • Provide timely feedback and create action plan for improvement
  • Formulate training and development plan for the team
  • Assess high performers and develop career or growth paths. Plan technical / managerial certification or training
  • Ensure technical competency is achieved for resources executing specialized processes

Stakeholder Management and Communication

  • Manage internal and external stakeholders. Ensure timely delivery of outputs and
- escalation guidelines to highlight gaps in performance or delays

  • Ensure timely and accurate handling of client / insurers escalations, queries or issues.
  • Adherence to communication document to close the loop and maintain transparency
  • Produce reports to measure performance and highlight gaps for nonadherence upstream or downstream functions

Continuous Improvement

  • Challenge the current state and identify process improvement opportunities, perform process value analysis and
  • Analyze current performance gaps and formulate corrective and preventive actions
  • Assess escalations and complaints from stakeholders and perform root cause analysis. Formulate action plan to reduce or eliminate the same
  • Benchmark performance and set improvement goals on a quarterly and yearly basis for the team

What you need to have:

- +5 Years' Experience in Region Re-Insurance Industry

  • Strong communication skills you will speak to leaders and collaborate with client teams who are remote, so effective verbal and written communication is key
  • Good organizational and time management skills to multitask and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency knowledge of basic Excel formulas, pivot tables, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Navins tool knowledge is a nice to have
  • Managerial aptitude desire to coach, mentor, and develop the team you are supervising
  • Ability to work and adjust in a fastpaced and dynamic environment as needed in order to support the needs of the business
