Job Description:

Seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an Assistant Animal Keeper in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The Assistant Animal Keeper will work closely with our team of experienced keepers to ensure the health, welfare, and enrichment of our animals.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the daily care and feeding of animals according to established protocols and dietary requirements.
Clean and maintain animal enclosures, exhibits, and surrounding areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
Provide enrichment activities and stimuli to promote natural behaviors and mental stimulation for the animals.
Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any abnormalities or concerns to senior staff.
Assist with routine health checks, grooming, and basic medical procedures under the supervision of senior keepers or veterinarians.
Handle animals safely and appropriately during feeding, cleaning, and enrichment activities.
Assist with the maintenance and repair of animal enclosures and facilities as needed.
Educate visitors about the animals in our care, their habitats, and conservation efforts.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure the wellbeing of both animals and humans.
Perform other duties as assigned by senior staff or management.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with animals in a zoo, sanctuary, or similar setting preferred.
Passion for animal welfare and conservation.
Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from senior staff.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic knowledge of animal behavior, husbandry practices, and safety protocols.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and work outdoors for extended periods.
Must be legally eligible to work in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
