Job Description:


The purpose of this role is to support business development and growth while ensuring that the organization is adhering to relevant AML & Compliance laws and regulations that are globally recognized according to the best practices and standards.

Compliance and risk manager will be responsible to propose to the board the Organization's risk appetite.

The compliance manager will ensure that the organization conducts its business processes in compliance with regulatory requirements, laws and professional standards based on international guidelines, and accepted business practices.

He/ She will perform audit checks at regular intervals, design and execute control systems.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Description

Knowledge of Law and Regulations
:
A solid understanding of local laws and regulations relevant to the industry and compliance requirements.


Dual Role:
Compliance Manager and Legal Counsel/Paralegal
:Actively contribute to both compliance-related functions and legal counsel or paralegal responsibilities.

Language Proficiency
:
Fluent in English and Arabic to effectively liaise with authorities and ensure seamless communication.


  • Uphold the ethical integrity of the organization and ensure that business activities are conducted using a regulatory framework applicable as per the regulations of the country.
  • Carry out the risk management process by thorough planning and implementation of the policies within the organization.
  • Ensure that all the employees are thoroughly updated about the organization's policies, regulations, and processes.
  • Suggest or advise the management regarding the implementation of compliance programs.
  • Participate to the training program and supervise the staff that needs attention to rules and regulations.
  • Identify Compliance risks and revise rules, reports, and procedures at regular intervals to recognize the threats.
  • Conduct internal audits and reviews at regular intervals to ensure that compliance procedures are regularly followed.
  • Act as the prime point of contact for any Compliance related issues and should be capable of providing guidance on any issues raised to him/her.
  • Ensure all the essential guidelines are put in place accurately adhering to industry's rules and regulations.
  • Design processes to eliminate or mitigate potential risks.
  • Develop and implement an effective compliance program in line with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular internal audits to assess the effectiveness of existing compliance measures.
  • Collaborate with different departments to ensure understanding and adherence to compliance requirements.
  • Stay abreast of changes in regulations and industry best practices, and update company policies accordingly.
  • Provide training and awareness sessions to employees on compliance matters.
  • Investigate and address any reported breaches of compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities.
  • Prepare reports for senior management and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with relevant regulatory bodies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Educational background, qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree
  • Experience in UAE, in similar role
  • Thorough expertise in the Customer Due Diligence process.
  • Proficient in using Compliance tools and software.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Solid knowledge of regulatory policies
  • Exceptional problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Effective time management to meet deadlines.
  • Competent collaborator with strong crossfunctional communication skills.
  • Proficient in report writing.
  • Ability to communicate independently with regulatory authorities and knowledge of raising Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
  • Capacity to handle confidential information appropriately.

Requirements:


  • Masters' degree in Business, Law, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a compliance officer or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high ethical standards.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Certification in compliance, risk management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Efficiency in Spoken & written English language, Arabic
