    Big Data Management, Big Data Mining Techniques and implementation, Foundations of Artificial Intelligence, Modern Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning models, generative AI and general adversarial networks (GANs), Natural language processing, Computer Vision.

    The School of Computer Science aims at producing innovative, well-rounded, hands-on professionals that are well versed in technological and computing concepts and skills.

    The school offers 7 programs under the umbrella of computer science and IT.

    Those programs are designed to be practical and focused on industry needed skills in popular areas of computer science and IT, including:

    Software development, Cyber Security, Big data and AI, Gaming and mobile development, Business information systems, IT management, and digital & ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking an experienced academic in the area of AI and Big Data having a PhD in the related field, from a recognized university.

    The position is offered at the Assistant Professor level, according to experience and qualification. It is a full-time position that requires the holder to contribute to the School's teaching, research and governance activities.

    The applicant is expected to have teaching experience in AI and Big Data related topics including:

    Big Data Management, Big Data Mining Techniques and Implementation, Foundations of Artificial Intelligence, Modern Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning models, generative AI and general adversarial networks (GANs), Natural language processing, Computer Vision, as well as core computer science subjects such as programming, database management, web technologies, and networking at a recognized higher education institution, along with a record of scholarly research and high-quality publications in the relevant field.

    Industry experience or evidence of industry-academic collaborations would also be beneficial.
    The post-holder will also be expected to supervise final year graduation projects, MSc projects and PhD Thesis.

    He/She will be expected to fully engage in scholarly and research activities within the thriving engineering team to produce high-impact research and deliver research-informed undergraduate and Master's level teaching.

    The applicant is expected to have an experience of involvement in collaborative research with external organizations, and have a strong track record for the dissemination of knowledge through recent publications in high impact international journals and international conferences.

    As a Faculty member, you will have an excellent research track record and will be required to demonstrate research leadership from the outset.

    You will be expected to raise the profile of the Faculty through external networking, and producing high impact, high profile publications.

    In addition, you will be expected to seek to gain your own research funding to develop/expand your role within the university.

    Qualifications & ExperienceTo qualify for the above role, candidate must have the following qualifications and experiencePhD.

    in Computer Science/AI and Big Data with thesis in AI and Machine Learning from a recognized international academic institutionAt least 4 years of teaching experience at an internationally recognized institution in area related to Computer Science, AI, Data Analytics.


    Working knowledge of techniques and tools for:

    Big Data Management, Big Data Mining Techniques and Implementation, Foundations of Artificial Intelligence, Modern Artificial Intelligence, Computer vision and applications, Data Mining, Database performance tuning, GANs, Generative AI, and Natural language processing.

    Industry experience related to Advanced AI, Machine Learning and Smart systems is a plusAn active researcher in the field (or related field) with publications in recognized international journals and indexed in Scopus and Web of ScienceFluency in the English language (both spoken and written)Excellent communication skillsPreferred QualificationsDocumented experience in the application of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Big Data Analysis to modern information systems problemsAbility to teach and conduct research about the latest AI and Big Data Analysis techniques and strategies as well as the project skills to apply this knowledge in the real worldAbility to teach and conduct research about the latest computer science topics to design, implement and test AI based solutions for solving complex problems.

    Working knowledge of Relational and Cloud databasesExperience with Hadoop, HBase, Spark and other Big data management technologiesExperience with AI and Machine learning models, and related libraries and platforms (e.g. TensorFlow, Keras, caffe, PyTorch, Theano, OpenCV, OpenAI, Gemini).The successful candidate will enjoy interaction with a professional and dynamic team of highly respected educators from over 50 different countries and exposure to students from over 100 University offers an expatriate package, which is an attractive tax-free salary.
