    Description

    Repton Dubai Senior School is seeking a passionate Teacher to join the Inclusion department for August 2024.

    The successful candidate will work closely with the existing highly experienced inclusion team to drive forward our inclusion agenda and support colleagues to ensure that our inclusive vision is a reality for all students. The school motto, 'Best for Every Child' truly encompasses the inclusive nature of Repton Dubai.

    The successful applicant will be required to teach students individually or in small groups as specified. They will also have an important pastoral care role within the school and will be expected to communicate with parents. Attendance at staff meetings and other specified after school events will form a part of the contractual hours of duty.

    Experience of working with English Language Learners would be an advantage.

    Purpose

    To support and promote an inclusive culture throughout the school, enabling all pupils to achieve their best and to support the Assistant Head (Inclusion) and Teaching and Learning Department in promoting the learning and personal development of students with additional needs, in addition to having the ability to teach Key Stage 2.

    The successful applicant will be required to teach children individually or in small groups as specified.     Skills, Experience and Responsibility

  • Experience and knowledge teaching students with special educational needs and/or English as an additional language
  • A commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children within the School and support of the School's policies and procedures
  • Resilience and the ability to work well under pressure; ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively
  • A commitment to supporting the wider life of the school and boarding house.
  • Attend staff and departmental meetings, open days, briefings, assemblies, INSET days, parent consultations and other school events, as required
  • Collaborate with the class and subject teachers to ensure what is being learned in one to one lessons is transferred and reinforced in the classroom
  • Liaise regularly with our Assistant Head - Senior School Inclusion to review teaching targets, reports, and any communication with parents
  • Be responsible to implement and execute IEPs for students of determination and EAL
  • Train and conduct workshops for Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants
  • Create and update student profiles
  • Plan and execute group and 1:1 lesson plans evidenced by weekly summary reportsRepton Schools in the UAE

    Successful candidates will have:-

  • Appropriate subject degree and PGCE, or equivalent, with exceptional subject knowledge
  • At least 2 years' experience of the National Curriculum for England, or relvant international curriculum
  • Experience of having offered inclusion support across Key Stage 2, 3 and/or 4
  • Experience of teacher KS2 would be an advantage
  • Have exceptional communication skills
