    Global Tax Compliance Specialist - Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Deriv

    Description
    • Tax compliance

    ○ Prepare and file all tax returnspromptly and accurately, including income, sales, payroll, andother applicable taxes.

    ○ Assess potentialimpacts of tax laws and regulations changes and advise Deriv onensuring compliance.

    ○ Review and analysefinancial data, supporting documents, and tax schedules to identifyand resolve any discrepancies or issues.

    ○Maintain compliance with tax laws and regulations in eachregion.

    ○ Manage and document Transfer Pricingarrangements to ensure compliance with relevantregulations.

    ○ Stay up-to-date withinternational tax laws on income, capital gains, withholding taxes,VAT/GST, transfer pricing, etc.

    • Tax planning and strategy

    ○ Develop and implement smart taxstrategies for Deriv across multiple countries andjurisdictions.

    ○ Identify opportunities fortax savings by researching tax laws, regulations, and rulings andrecommend appropriate actions to internalstakeholders.

    ○ Understand the tax impact ofnew digital business models and stay informed about the latest taxtechnology and data management trends.

    • Tax reporting and analysis

    ○ Prepare and review financialstatements, tax provisions, and related disclosures to comply withaccounting standards and reportingrequirements.

    ○ Perform tax-related financialanalysis, including effective tax rate calculations, deferred taxassets/liabilities, and tax-relatedcontingencies.

    ○ Ensure accurate financialreporting and address tax-related audit inquiries by working withexternal auditors.

    • Taxaudit and controversy

    ○Oversee tax disputes, audits, and litigation while representingDeriv's interests before tax authorities andcourts.

    ○ Defend the organisation'stax positions and mitigate taxexposure.

    What YouHave

    • Bachelor's degree inAccounting, Finance, or a related field
    • 7-10years of hands-on tax experience, with at least 4 years ofmanagement experience
    • Significant experience indealing with cross-border and transfer pricingissues
    • Strong knowledge of tax laws andregulations across geographies
    • Ability tointerpret and apply complex tax rules to specific situations, withstrong analytical and problem-solvingskills
    • Exceptional leadership, communication,and project management skills
    • Experienceworking under tight deadlines with globalteams
    • Proficiency in various tax calculationand reporting methodologies
    • Experience insetting up a relevant system for taxmanagement
    • Excellent spoken and written Englishcommunication
