My Job Responsibilities were to: Operation & Maintenance

1. Lead & manage Operation & Maintenance team of Boiler, DM/RO Plant, Boiler Lab, and Utility.
2. Overall responsibility & Day to day activity of Boiler, DM/RO Plant, Boiler Lab, and Utility.

6. Give instructions to activate valves to maintain required amounts of water in boilers, to adjust supplies of combustion air, and to control the flow of fuel to boilers.
7. Monitor boiler water, chemical, and fuel levels, and make adjustments to maintain required levels.
8. Monitor and inspect equipment, computer terminals, switches, valves, gauges, alarms, safety devices, and meters to make sure that equipment is operating efficiently safely.
9. Analyse problems and take appropriate action to make sure continuous and reliable operation of equipment systems.
10. Maintain daily log books of operation, maintenance, and safety activities, including test results, instrument readings, and details of equipment malfunctions maintenance work.
11. Switch from automatic to manual controls and isolate equipment mechanically and electrically to allow for safe inspection repair work.
12. Clean & lubricate boilers & auxiliary equipment make minor adjustments as needed, using hand tools.
13. Check the flue gas quality of systems make adjustments to make sure compliance with mandated safety codes.
14. Perform or arrange for repairs, like complete overhauls, replacement of defective valves, gaskets, or bearings, or fabrication of new parts.
15. Weigh, measure and record fuel used.
16. Develop operation, safety, and maintenance procedures or assist in their development.
17. Install auxiliary equipment, using hand tools
18. Contact equipment manufacturers or appropriate specialists when necessary to resolve equipment problems.
19. Provide assistance to plumbers in repairing or replacing water, sewer, or waste lines, and in daily maintenance activities.
20. Supervise the work of assistant stationary engineers, turbine operators, boiler tenders, or air conditioning and refrigeration operators mechanics.
21. Give instructions to operators & engineers regarding steam plant, air compressor operations.
22. Investigate report on accidents
23. Instruct Operators to operate mechanical hoppers and provide assistance in their adjustment repair
24. Material issue from store & maintain inventory for spares.
