            This is a private commercial farm owned by Saad Dehaimi. Total area of this farm is 25 Ha. Having 6 multi-span greenhouses and 10 Single-span greenhouses. (Total area of greenhouses is about 20200 square meters.). Area of greenhouses under Dutch bucket hydroponics is 9100 square meters. And 710 square meter area of Mint cultivation under DWC (Deep water Culture) hydroponics system in 2 single span greenhouses.  All green houses are sophisticated. Having evaporative cooling system, in order to cultivate in Qatar climate. In the open field we have fodder grass cultivation of Rhodes, Alfa-Alfa, Bombassa grass, and seasonal cultivation of vegetables. We grow fruit trees Such as Date palm, Syziphus mauritiana, Pithecelobium dulce, Lemon etc.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities 

 

  • Managing Hydroponics greenhouses. (Preparation of Nutrient stock solution as per Albert’s solution formula. Control of TDS, EC and PH in the system. Control of irrigation timer etc...) Generally grown vegetables in Dutch bucket hydroponics system are Tomatoes, Cucumber, Pea, Cow pea, Hot pepper, Bell pepper, Brinjal etc.. Each crop differs in TDS, EC and PH
  • Managing of DWC (Deep Water Culture) Hydroponics system. Control of TDS, EC and PH. Oxygenation of system using air pump. Generally leaf vegetables Mint, Lettuce etc. are grown in this system.
  • Managing NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) Hydroponics system. I-Type vertical system is used. Generally Lettuces are grown here.
  • Managing crops in non-hydroponics green houses, grown in soil beds. Making of soil preparation, Bed preparation, sterilization, Mulching and transplanting seedlings from nursery.  Generally Tomatoes, Cucumber, Pea, Cow pea, Hot pepper, Bell pepper, Brinjal etc. are grown here.
  • Managing open field fodder grass cultivation. (Alfa-Alfa, Rhodes and Bombassa grass) Planting, Control of irrigation, Pest control, Fertilizer application and timely harvest.
  • Cultivation of open field seasonal vegetables. Leaf vegetables such as Coriander, Parsley, Dill, Arugula, Mint   and  other crops such as Corn, Tomatoes, Bhindi, Brinjal, Squash, Musk melon, Watermelon, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Broccoli, Gourd, Peppers etc.. Are grown. 
  • Managing fertilizer and Pesticide store. Control of minimum stock availability.
  • Managing Pests and Diseases. Regular monitoring of crops and checking pests and diseases incidence. And making decision for chemical application as per pest and diseases. Such as Insecticides, Fungicides and Acaricides etc.
  • Control of Fertilizer programs for each crop. Regular monitoring of health and growth of plants and fertilizer application as per growth stage. 
  • Preparation of cost benefit analysis report for each crops
  • Managing Labor force (Currently there is 50 Agriculture labors and 6 Technical labors are available) Labors are from India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Ethiopia. Improvement of work output, skill development for labors is doing.
  • Timely harvesting of crops as per the market demand.
  • Managing of farm machinery (Tractors, Sprayer machines and harvest machines)
  • Management of farm seedlings nursery. Seed sowing in trays, checking germination, Control of irrigation. Control of pests and diseases. Transplanting of seedlings. Etc.
  • Managing of Irrigation system in the farm. Drip irrigation, Sprinkler irrigation etc. are used. Managing of Irrigation items store.
  • Managing fruit trees and other ornamental plants in the farm. Such as Date palm, Syziphus mauritiana, Pithecelobium dulcae, Lemon etc.
  • Planning of cultivation as per season and completion with time bound manner.
  • Work with labors in the field in extreme climatic condition, temperature may reach up to 55 oC
  • Monthly submit the field activity report to the farm manager.
  • Preparation of report on requirement in the field (Chemicals, fertilizer, irrigation items.)

  • Appointed as Assistant Manager (Farm Operations) of Block No: 4, having an area of 240 ha, mainly composed of Perennial crops such as cashew, arecanut, coconut, cocoa, pepper, etc…
  • Labor management. responsible for managing two head workers, one field assistant, 10 muster(regular) workers and 51 casual(temporary) workers.
  • Allocation of work each day, proper supervision of the work in order to complete within stipulated time.
