    Please note that this isnot an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done.Anantara employees always find new ways to look after the businesstheir guests and their colleagues. Within this the keyresponsibilities for this position are:

    Planning and Organizing:

    • To comply with all statutory and legalrequirements for fire health and safety licensing and provide allnecessary safety equipment required for work to be carried outefficiently and safely.
    • Plan and manage allpreventative maintenance work throughout all areas.
    • Continually monitor the responsible use of energy in thehotel and implement measures resulting in energy costsavings.
    • Assist to prepare the Engineeringbudget for the property and provide the Engineering input intohotel strategic and operational planning exercises.

    Administration

    • Liaise with P&C over all employeematters including recruitment and interviewing.
    • Control all payroll and business expenditure of thedepartment.
    • Submit daily and monthly reportas requested by Director of Engineering.
    • Submit a monthly report for the equipment preventive maintenancesystem.

    Maintenance

    • Provideinhouse mechanical and electrical servicing repair and maintenanceusing welltrained presentable personnel carrying out maintenanceworks in an efficient discreet and guest friendlymanner.
    • Carry out continuous inspections toensure the highest level of guest comfort is maintained and thatall services are in proper working condition.
    • Ensure that all maintenance requests are prioritized and are dealtwith in an efficient manner.
    • Develop a teamof technically proficient and generally helpful technicians tocarry out all maintenance and repair work to standard withtechnical specifications.
    • Assist at allProject stages on the small and major projects.
    • Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records andcompliance of service contract.
    • Provideassociate technical training through a yearly plan approved by theDirector of Engineering.
    • Following up therisk assessment comments related to the department and plan foraction after getting approval of the Director ofEngineering.
    • Ensure the building is on shapeand take the routine daily inspection for public areas and serviceareas.
    • Following up the environmental programrelated to the Green Globe audit.
    Qualifications


    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

    • The Assistant Chief Engineer must speak fluent English and thelanguage of the local country.
    • He/She ideallyshould be certified in Electrical or MechanicalEngineering.
    • Must have not less than fiveyears operating experience in a hotel engineeringdepartment.
    • Must be familiar with theoperations and priorities of all other hotel operatingdepartments.
