    Description
    • Teaching, including planning andpreparing courses and lessons, setting and marking of work andassessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress andattainment in line with the school's expectations andpolicy.
    • Using data to informclassroom teaching, monitoring and tracking student progress andputting in place timelyinterventions.
    • Preparing students forpublic examinations, assessing students for the purposes ofsuch
    • examinations, recording andreporting such assessments and attending meetings connected withthe conduct of publicexaminations.
    • Communicating andconsulting with the parents of students, including the writing ofreports.
    • Attendance atParents' Evenings and OpenEvenings.
    • Maintaining good order anddiscipline among the students he/she isteaching.
    • Participating indepartmental meetings and OpenEvenings.
    • Working as a member of ateam in the shaping of departmental policy and practice, theintroduction of curricular initiatives, the preparation anddevelopment of programmes of study and methods of teaching andassessment.
    • Participating inadministrative and organisational tasks in order to ensure thesmooth running of thedepartment.
    • Keeping up to date withcurriculum innovation, participating in arrangements for CPD,contributing to his/her own professionaldevelopment.
    • Working collaborativelywith support teachers in theclassroom.
    • Taking responsibility forthe monitoring and support of a beginning teacher taking his/herclass, if appropriate.
    • Setting workfor his/her classes where absence is known in advance and settingwork for absent colleagues whererequired.
    • Taking responsibility for adesignated area of the curriculum, administration or curriculuminnovation or project.
    • Carrying outother tasks as reasonably directed by the Head ofDepartment.
    • Familiarising themselveswith the DSIB inspection framework and the expectations ofoutstanding teaching and learning in theUAE.
    • Being supportive of UAEinitiatives and culturalexpectations.
