• Ensures, Performs, Responsible forhospitalized patients whose condition requires medical care at thespecialty level.
• Day-to-day care for allCritical Care patients.
• To evaluate,resuscitate and manage critically ill patients including those withvital organ and system failures
• To use organsupport and replacements systems
• Should haveexpertise in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway management,invasive monitoring, renal therapy and mechanicalventilation
• To anticipate, assess and defineproblems in the critically ill, diagnose and implement a managementplan – within the acceptable timeframe
• To communicate effectively and establishand foster relationships with internal and externalclients
• Be compassionate, self-motivated andthe ability to work under pressure for longhours.
• Need to manage the process of end oflife care. After working hours, when on-call, should be availablefor consultations as requested by doctors in other departments, inthe intensive care areas, ER, and other critical careservices.
• On duty you should give consultationsas requested by doctors in other departments, in the intensive careareas, ER, and other critical careservices.
• Will serve as a major contributor toin-service training activities of the new and existing employees.Works under the general professional supervision of the Head of theDepartment.
• Performs professional duties of anintensivist in adherence to the approved Privileges maintained bythe Critical Care department for individual intensivist. Privilegesmay differ between individual intensivist, depending on theefficiency, experience, expertise and skills of the particularindividual.
• Participates in the reading ofEKG's (Electro cardio Gram) for critical carepatients.
• Participates in mortality/morbidityreview; Quality Assurance and peerreviews.
• Participates in the weekly/ monthlyDepartmental meeting/ training and participates actively in variouscommittee meetings as designated such as the ER, Infection Control,ICU, CCU, QPS and CPR.
• Reviews journals, textsor periodicals in order to update latest techniques, procedures,drugs and therapy.
• Provides on-call emergencycoverage for ICU and Emergency patients.
• Complywith all OSH and infection control policies, standards andprocedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply thoserequirements
• Work accordance with thedocumented OSH procedures and instructions, specificresponsibilities
• Be familiar with emergency andevacuation procedures
• Notifying OSH Hazards,incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with thepreparation of risk assessments, incidentreports
• Comply with Waste management proceduresand policies
• Attend applicable OSH/Infectioncontrol training programs, mock drills and awarenessprograms
• Use of appropriate personal protectiveequipment and safety systems

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduationfrom approved school of medicine, plus one year ofinternship
• Three years of residency in CriticalCare Medicine with special training in ICU and Emergency servicespreferred. Culminating in procuring a Post-GraduateMaster's degree and/or equivalent Fellowships approved byDHA. At least five years' practice in the field ofCritical Care / ICU Medicine.Current licensure in country of originand with DHA license to practice in Dubai,UAE
• Must have an exceptional interpersonalskills, maturity, and good judgment and be capable of communicatingin a professional manner with diverse range of individuals;superior phone etiquette skills and Patient focused; serviceoriented; patient andunderstanding.
