    Aldar Education are currentlyseeking an outstanding EAL Lead Teacher at Mamoura British Academyin Abu Dhabi commencing in theacademic year. This role will be athrough school role supporting students from FS to Year 13.

    Mamoura British Academy is a British curriculummixed gender school until Year 8 and a girls only school from Year9 onwards. It is located in a state of the art building in theheart of Abu Dhabi.     Minimum Qualifications
    • A BachelorsDegree in any subject along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    • A Level 5 Diploma to teach English as anAdditional Language: eg. TEFL/TESL/TESOL/CELTA/DELTA Trinity orequivalent

    Minimum Experience
    • Minimum 5 years teaching experience in English NationalCurriculum

    A. Roles and responsibilities:
    • To ensure that English as anAdditional Language (EAL) students needs are met through datainformed intervention and support
    • Workingcollaboratively with class teachers classroom assistants and theDirector of Inclusion to ensure provision is targeted and impactful
    • To be an excellent communicator at all levels
    • Be committed to developing positiverelationships with all members of the school community
    • Working alongside fellow teachers to plan engaginglessons that meet the requirements of the curriculum and allow allstudents to make expected levels of progress
    • Working with parents to ensure the happiness and bestacademic outcomes for all students
    • Workingcooperatively with curriculum support staff (where applicable) tosupport student development
    • To conductMonitoring Evaluation and Review (MER) of EAL provision across theschool and report data accordingly
    • To ensureEAL student progress is meeting and/or exceeding expected progressacross all year groups
    • Scheduling of staffwith additional EAL support responsibilities and supporting withlearning walks and drop ins of these staff members
    • Conduct whole school professional development to educatestaff on strategies for supporting EAL Learners.
    B. Teaching and Learning:
    • A clear understanding of theBritish curriculum from FS to Year 13
    • To beresponsible for the development implementation administration andmonitoring of a whole school EAL intervention programme
    • Organising classroom provision learning resources andcreating displays to encourage a positive and engaging learningenvironment
    • Planning preparing and presentingsessions that cater for the needs of EAL students
    • Motivating pupils with enthusiastic and imaginativeteaching
    • Observing and assessing children inline with the school assessment policy
    • Beingreflective of classroom provision sessions taught progress made andadjusting environment planning and curriculum to reflect this
    • Ensure the Mamoura British Academy Teacherand Learner DNA language and attitudes are being embeddedthroughout the curriculum.
    C. Assessment and Data:
    • Taking responsibility for the progress of students taughtand for EAL additional provision across the school
    • Meeting requirements for the assessment and recording ofstudents development using the schools designated assessment system
    • Using data provided by assessments toinfluence further planning provision and intervention
    • To be responsible for the data collection and analysis ofEAL data for the whole school and identify next steps
    • To lead on the EAL data developed for the whole schoolinclusion dashboard and present to the Executive Leadership Teamwhen requested
    • Providing feedback to parentsand carers on a students progress at Parent Teacher Conferences andother meetings.
    D.Behaviour Management and Duties
    • Follow implement and adhere to the schools BehaviourPolicy
    • Manage classes effectively usingapproaches which are appropriate to students needs in order toinspire motivate and challenge pupils
    • Maintain excellent relationships with pupils exerciseappropriate authority and act decisively when necessary within theschools Behaviour Policy
    • Be a positive rolemodel and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes valuesand behaviour which are expected of pupils
    • Have high expectations of behaviour promoting selfcontroland independence of all learners
    • Ensure theMamoura Values DNA language and attitudes are being embeddedthroughout the curriculum
    • Carry out duties asdirected and within the schools policy.
    E. Wider Professional Responsibilities
    • To work as part of a departmentteam supporting planning assessment resources and special eventslinked to that team
    • Support the organizationof and participation in school events outings and activities whichmay take place at weekends or in the evening
    • Communicate effectively with parents/carers with regardsto students achievements and wellbeing using schoolsystems/processes such as CPOMS as appropriate
    • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethosof the school
    • Run a weekly ECA eachterm.
